34-Year-Old Man Shot Dead At East Side Plaza, Port-of-Spain — Police Investigating
A man is dead following a shooting incident in broad daylight at East Side Plaza, Charlotte Street, Port-of-Spain on Wednesday afternoon (15th October, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Kwando Guillium of Division Drive, La Puerta, Diego Martin. He was said to be a cleaner.
According to reports, Guillium was standing in front of the plaza on George Street, around 3:40 PM, when he was approached by two (2) gunmen of African descent. The suspects opened fire, hitting him several times about the body before fleeing North along George Street and then East onto Faure Street.
Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded within minutes. However, Guillium succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned and ordered the body removed, pending an autopsy at the Forensic Science Centre.
Police have not yet established a motive for this murder.
Investigations are continuing by Officers of the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region I.
