Venezuelan Woman Dies At Hospital After Vehicle Crashes Into Her Scooter In Cunupia — Other Driver Fails DUI Test
A woman has died at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope, days after she was critically injured in a collision early Monday morning (1st June, 2026) in Cunupia, involving an electric scooter and a motor vehicle. The deceased has been identified as 35-year-old Venezuelan national, Rusimine Riaz, of Mon Plasir Road, Cunupia. According to reports, the collision occurred around 2:10 AM along Jerningham Junction Road in the vicinity of Lucky Junction. Police Officers responding to the scene observed a white Nissan Wingroad (PBZ 7116) facing South along the roadway. They also found Riaz lying at the front of the vehicle next to a red electric scooter, with visible injuries about her body. The injured woman was conveyed to the Chaguanas Health Facility for emergency medical treatment.
