Ministry Warns of Fake Text Messages Regarding Speeding Violations

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the public that text messages currently circulating regarding speeding violations, claiming to have legal effect and requesting that persons make payment within seven (7) days to receive a 50% discount, are fake and did not originate from the Ministry. In a Media Release today (Wednesday 20th May, 2026), the Ministry said it further emphasizes that “these messages are not issued by, affiliated with, or part of the Licensing Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. Members of the public are strongly urged to disregard these messages, avoid clicking on any links, and sharing personal or financial information. ” The public is reminded to rely only on the Ministry's official communication channels for accurate information regarding speeding violations, Fixed Penalty Notices, and related services. The Ministry thanks the public for its continued vigilance and co-operation. Please be guided accordingly.

In a Media Release on Monday (11th May, 2026), the Ministry further advises that “these electronic messages are not issued by, affiliated with, or part of the Licensing Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. Members of the public are strongly advised to disregard these messages and avoid clicking on any links or sharing personal or financial information.” The Ministry is reminding the public to “rely only on official Ministry communication channels for accurate information regarding the payment of Fixed Penalty Notices and other related services.” The Ministry thanks the public for its continued vigilance and co-operation. T&TEC Call Centre Interruption On Sunday

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that, due to a planned network shutdown between 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday (10th May, 2026), its emergency Contact Centre numbers, 800-BULB (800-2852) and 800-TTEC (800-8832), will be unavailable during that period. During this time, customers are advised to contact T&TEC using the following mobile numbers: 794-4823 794-7264 T&TEC said it apologizes for any inconvenience caused by this interruption. Delayed Opening of ALL Licensing Offices Nationwide Due To Technical Difficulties

UPDATE (1:30 PM): The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation said the technical issues previously affecting Licensing Offices have been resolved. All Licensing Offices nationwide are open and operating as normal. The Ministry thanks the public for their patience and understanding during the disruption and apologizes for any inconvenience caused. TTPS Warns of Fake Email Circulating — Fraudulent Cybercrime Notice

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is advising members of the public of a fraudulent email currently in circulation, which falsely claims to be sent by the Commissioner of Police. In a Media Release on Thursday (9th April, 2026), the TTPS said the email alleges that the recipient is under investigation for various cybercrime and criminal offences by local and international security agencies. It further instructs recipients to report to the Police Headquarters or the Cyber Crime Unit within twenty-four (24) hours, or face immediate arrest. Flow: Service Interruptions In Central Trinidad Due To Fire Damage To Fibre Cables

Flow is advising customers across some communities in Central Trinidad, including Cunupia, Las Lomas, Kelly Village, Longdenville and environs, who may be experiencing service interruptions, that this is due to damage to its fibre cables caused by a fire.  In a Notice issued this afternoon (Sunday 22nd March, 2026), Flow said, “Our repair teams are already on-site working to restore your service in the shortest time possible. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience and understanding.” More on this as it becomes available.

TTT Limited: NO Broadcast of NLCB Draws On Saturday

TTT Limited is informing its viewers and the wider public that there will be no broadcast of National Lotteries Control Board (NLCB) draws on Saturday (21st March, 2026). In a Media Release today (Friday 20th March, 2026), TTT said this follows a decision by the NLCB to suspend all gaming activities on that date, in recognition of the sacred observance of Eid-ul-Fitr. While the public holiday was observed today, the NLCB has extended the suspension of its operations to include Saturday (21st March, 2026). As a result, all scheduled NLCB draws will be cancelled for that day. Government Extends Early Renewal Period For Driver's Licences To THREE (3) Months

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the public that the Government has approved an amendment to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Regulations, made pursuant to the Motor Vehicles and Road Traffic Act , Chapter 48:50, by Legal Notice No. 48 of 2026. In a Media Release on Monday (16th March, 2026), the Ministry said this amendment will allow holders of valid Driver's Licences to renew their licences up to three (3) months prior to the expiration date , instead of the previous one (1) month period before expiry. The Ministry notes that this change “will provide greater convenience to the public, reduce last-minute renewals, and improve overall service efficiency.” The change takes effect from Monday (16th March, 2026). The Ministry said it “thanks the public for its continued co-operation and remains committed to improving service delivery across the transport sector.” Please be guided accordingly.

PTSC: Temporary Closure of Access Near Port-of-Spain Public Washroom

The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is advising the traveling public that critical refurbishment and upgrade works have commenced on the roof of the public washroom facility at the Port-of-Spain Depot.  In a Notice issued on Friday (13th March, 2026), PTSC said, “In order to ensure the safety of commuters and members of the public, the pedestrian corridor leading to the East entrance of City Gate is temporarily closed. As a precautionary measure, foot traffic has been diverted around the perimeter of the building while the necessary repair works are undertaken.” PTSC added, “OSH and security personnel will be on site directing pedestrian movement, and appropriate signage has been installed to assist members of the public in complying with the diversion. The Eastern Regional Health Authority (ERHA) is informing members of the public that the Rio Claro Health Centre will be closed from 7:00 AM on Saturday (28th February, 2026) to facilitate maintenance works. During this temporary closure, services can be accessed at the Mayaro District Health Facility. Services at the Rio Claro Health Centre will resume at 8:00 AM on Monday (2nd March, 2026). Transport Ministry Opens Priority Bus Route For Light Motor Vehicles

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the general public that authorization has been granted for light motor vehicles only to utilize the Eastbound lane of the Priority Bus Route (PBR), from Abattoir Road to Mt. Hope/Champs Fleurs, from 2:00 PM to 11:59 PM today (Monday 16th February, 2026). Motorists are asked to comply with all lawful instructions from Police Officers and traffic signs and to exercise due care and attention while using the route. Please be guided accordingly.

PTSC: Commuters With Soiled Clothing NOT Allowed To Travel On Buses During Carnival Season

The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is advising that customers/masqueraders whose clothing and/or costumes are soiled with grease, paint, dirt, oil or mud will not be allowed to travel on its buses. In a Public Notice issued today (Friday 13th February, 2026), the PTSC said, “This decision is taken to protect public property and to ensure that all commuters are able to travel in buses that meet acceptable standards of cleanliness and sanitation. Grease, paint, dirt, oil or mud can cause permanent damage to the fabric on seats and the interior cabin of buses.” The PTSC added, “We thank you for understanding and co-operation. WASA: South Oropouche Pipeline Repairs Completed Ahead of Schedule

The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers, motorists and members of the general public that emergency repairs to the 36-inch transmission pipeline along South Trunk Road, South Oropouche was completed ahead of time, at approximately 12:00 AM on Friday (6th February, 2026). Customers are further advised that it may take between twenty-four (24) to forty-eight (48) hours for the service to normalize to some affected areas, in accordance with established water supply schedules. The Authority notes that temporary asphalt surface road restoration has also been completed and the flow of vehicular traffic in the vicinity of the job-site returned to normal. Permanent restoration of the site will be undertaken in the coming weeks, in collaboration with NIDCO and the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure - Highways Division. T&TEC Public Advisory: Traffic Interruption Along Wrightson Road

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising motorists using Wrightson Road, Port of Spain, today (Saturday 24th January, 2026), that it is conducting emergency underground work in the vicinity of the Fire Services Headquarters. T&TEC notes that the work is necessary to repair a fault on an underground high voltage cable and, as a result, there will be an interruption in the flow of traffic along the Westbound lane until 6:00 PM today (Saturday 24th January, 2026). The Commission says it apologizes for any inconvenience caused by these repair works.  Motorists are urged to proceed with caution and to follow the instructions of Police Officers on-site. Court of Appeal To Operate At Hall of Justice

The Judiciary of Trinidad and Tobago is advising that with effect from 12th January, 2026, the Court of Appeal will operate solely from the Hall of Justice, Knox Street, Port-of-Spain. Accordingly, all Court of Appeal operations at the Waterfront Judicial Centre located at Tower D, International Waterfront Complex, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, have been relocated to the 3rd Floor, Hall of Justice.
