Missing: 26-Year-Old Arima Woman — Last Seen On Tuesday

Police are searching for a woman who disappeared after leaving her home in Arima for a routine morning walk on Tuesday (28th April, 2026), prompting growing concern among relatives for her safety, as they say it is out of character for her to remain out of contact. She has been identified as 26-year-old Shania Waldron. Her mother, Sherma, said Waldron is diagnosed with schizophrenia, stressing that her vulnerability makes it critical that she is located as soon as possible. Since her disappearance on Tuesday, family members have been searching nearby areas and appealing to the public for help, but efforts have so far yielded no results. 49-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Vehicle At Queen’s Park Savannah; 9-Year-Old Son Witness Murder

A man is dead following a brazen shooting incident at the Queen’s Park Savannah (QPS) this afternoon (Thursday 30th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 49-year-old Masud Prosper of Belmont. His 9-year-old son reportedly witnessed the killing. According to reports, Prosper was in the driver’s seat of a black Mitsubishi Lancer (PCB 3884), which was in the parking area in front of the food court, when gunmen opened fire on the vehicle in a sustained burst of gunshots, around 5:30 PM.  Relatives said he had gone to pick up his 9-year-old son from football practice when the shooting occurred. The boy reportedly witnessed his father’s killing. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded. However, Prosper, who was shot multiple times about the body, was pronounced dead at the scene. Burnt Skeletal Remains Found In Arouca — Skull, Hands, Feet Missing

Burnt skeletal remains were discovered in a remote area of Arouca on Sunday afternoon (26th April, 2026), with its skull, hands and feet missing. The deceased has not yet been identified. According to reports, Officers attached to the Arouca Police District responded to a call for assistance from Captain Vallance Rambharat of the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), around 3:40 PM. Upon arrival, the team directed Officers to a track off Zircon Circular in Bon Air West, approximately a quarter-mile from the main roadway, where they found what appeared to be burnt skeletal remains in a natural drainage area along the track. Police said a preliminary assessment revealed that several body parts were missing, including the arms below the elbows, the feet below the knees, and the skull. Temporary Traffic Disruption On Thursday Along Southern Main Road, La Brea

The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure is advising the public of a temporary traffic disruption along the Southern Main Road, between the 74.1 Km and 74.2 Km marks, in the vicinity of Point D'Or Junction, La Brea. This disruption is necessary to facilitate road rehabilitation works, which are scheduled to commence on Thursday (30th April, 2026), between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM. In light of the above, motorists are advised to: Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers. Comply with instructions from Police Officers or flag personnel on-site to facilitate the safe and orderly flow of traffic. Remain alert to equipment operating within the work zone and entering or exiting the site. Drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution on approaching the work zone. 31-Year-Old Man Chased, Shot Dead In Arouca — Police Investigating

A man is dead following a brazen shooting incident in Arouca on Tuesday evening (28th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 31-year-old Randy Permanand, also known as “Aki,” of #29 Savannah Road, Arouca. According to reports, residents heard several loud explosions along Valencia Drive in Five Rivers, sending them scrambling for safety, around 5:50 PM. Witnesses reported seeing Permanand running West along Valencia Drive while being chased by a masked gunman dressed in a dark long-sleeved top. Seconds later, more gunfire erupted, with bullets reportedly piercing nearby homes. One resident reported a bullet entered their home, shattering a glass window. A woman is dead and two (2) of her relatives injured following a road traffic accident in Debe early this morning (Wednesday 29th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Sintra Singh of La Romaine. She was a passenger in a vehicle involved in the crash and tragically died just hours before she was set to celebrate her 58th birthday. According to reports, Singh was seated in the back seat of a grey Nissan Cube, driven by her nephew, while her sister occupied the front seat. A man is currently hospitalized in critical condition following a brutal shooting incident in Caroni late Monday night (27th April, 2026). The victim has been identified as 25-year-old Christian Rampersad of Gilbert Street, Frederick Settlement, Caroni. Republic Bank Introduces Higher Fees — Effective From 1st May, 2026

Republic Bank Limited (RBL), the country’s largest commercial bank, has announced a sweeping round of increased fees across everyday banking services, effective from Friday (1st May, 2026). The changes are set to affect both routine transactions and penalty charges, with higher costs for basic services as well as steeper fees for overdrafts, missed payments and insufficient funds. Notable increases include higher charges for overdrafts and insufficient funds, with NSF (Not Sufficient Funds) fees rising from $34.50 to $57.50, overdraft fees increasing from $30 to $57.50, and some loan late-payment penalties doubling to as much as $100. Meanwhile, debit transactions will also now attract per-transaction fees on several accounts that previously included a limited number of free withdrawals. Pedestrian Struck Dead By Panel Van While Attempting To Cross Uriah Butler Highway

A man is dead after he was struck by a panel van while attempting to cross the Uriah Butler Highway on Monday afternoon (27th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as Hamant Sieunarine, aka ‘Sean.’ According to reports, the pedestrian abruptly ran across the Highway from the Western side to the Eastern side, in the vicinity of Bicks, directly into the path of an oncoming white panel van (TCZ 8028), which was proceeding North in the right lane, around 2:15 PM. The driver was unable to react in time, resulting in the tragic collision. CCTV footage captured the moment of impact. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and Officers from the St. Joseph Police Station responded. However, the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. THREE (3) Security Officers Appear Before San Fernando High Court Master On Home Invasion Charges

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), three (3) men appeared before a San Fernando High Court Master, jointly charged with two (2) offences arising out of an incident which occurred on 20th April, 2026. The TTPS said Naresh Joseph, a 34-year-old Security Officer, Ricardo Baptiste, a 24-year-old Security Officer, and Renando Baptiste, a 22-year-old Security Officer, appeared before Master Sarah De Silva, charged jointly with home invasion and malicious damage, on Monday (27th April, 2026). UPDATE: Government Senator David Nakhid believes he was followed from a financial institution before his vehicle was broken into in Cascade. He said he had just left the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) branch in Maraval and, after reviewing security footage, believes he was trailed by suspects who later targeted his vehicle. Speaking on his way to Parliament a day after the robbery, Nakhid said financial institutions must do more to protect customers beyond the confines of their branches. “From my investigation, this has happened several times, especially when people bank at RBC Maraval. The deceased has been identified as Shivanan Jogie of Railway Line Road, Victoria Village, San Fernando. BODIES of Missing Elderly Men Found In Burnt-Out Vehicle In Valencia — Police On The Scene

UPDATE 3:  Two (2) women are among four (4) suspects in Police custody as of today (Saturday 9th May, 2026), as investigators continue probing the murders of Kenneth Gill and Bernard Mahabir.  Samantha Toppin, a vendor at the Tunapuna Market, is believed to have played a key role in orchestrating the killings. The woman was arrested at an apartment along M.I. Trace, El Socorro, by Officers attached to the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region II. She was reportedly identified on CCTV footage at two (2) ATMs while withdrawing cash from the account of one of the murdered men. Following her detention, investigators carried out a series of operations which subsequently led to the arrest of another female suspect and two (2) men in connection with the case. 39-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Valencia — THIRD Killing On Emon Lane Within Days

A man is dead following a shooting incident in Valencia last night (Sunday 26th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 39-year-old Keshawn Guy of Emon Lane, Valencia and Pinto Road, Arima. The incident marks the third killing in the area within days and is said to have deepened fear among residents. According to reports, while approaching his home with his wife, around 8:40 PM, a suspect approached Guy along Emon Lane, who ran when he saw the gunman. However, the suspect gave chase and several loud explosions were heard moments later. Guy’s wife later found him lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body. Two (2) men are dead following a horrific road traffic accident in Bacolet, Tobago, on Sunday morning (26th April, 2026). The deceased have been identified as Keyon “Sprang” Nimblett and Shakka Rivers, both from Signal Hill, Tobago. They were employees of REM Elite construction company. Aside from being co-workers, the men were said to be “like brothers” and never ventured anywhere without each other. 50-Year-Old Man Stabbed To Death At Mini-Mart In San Juan — Police Investigating

A man is dead following a stabbing incident at a mini-mart in San Juan this afternoon (Sunday 26th April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 50-year-old Kevin Samuel of Saddle Road, San Juan. According to reports, Samuel was stabbed during an altercation at Jugan’s Mini-Mart, located along Prizgar and Saddle Road, San Juan. He sustained multiple stab wounds during the incident. Met Office Issues Hazardous Seas Alert Until Wednesday Morning

The Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS) has issued a Hazardous Seas Alert (Yellow Level) for a total of fifty-seven (57) hours. The Alert begins at 11:00 PM tonight (Sunday 26th April, 2026) and will remain in effect until 8:00 AM on Wednesday morning (29th April, 2026) for Northerly and Northeasterly coastal regions, including to a lesser extent, North-facing coasts in the Gulf of Paria. According to the Met Office, high-energy, long period Northeasterly swells are expected to produce large breakers, resulting in occasional deterioration of near-shore conditions along Northerly and Northeasterly coastal regions. To a lesser extent, conditions may extend to North-facing coasts in the Gulf of Paria. Maximum impacts are expected during High Tides.
