THREE (3) Security Officers Appear Before San Fernando High Court Master On Home Invasion Charges
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), three (3) men appeared before a San Fernando High Court Master, jointly charged with two (2) offences arising out of an incident which occurred on 20th April, 2026.
The TTPS said Naresh Joseph, a 34-year-old Security Officer, Ricardo Baptiste, a 24-year-old Security Officer, and Renando Baptiste, a 22-year-old Security Officer, appeared before Master Sarah De Silva, charged jointly with home invasion and malicious damage, on Monday (27th April, 2026).
According to reports, the 42-year-old victim was at a bar, where he had a verbal dispute with the three (3) accused. He subsequently returned to his home, located at Philippine Road, San Fernando. However, later that night, at approximately 11:00 PM, the suspects allegedly went to the victim’s home and began throwing objects, damaging a window and a sheet of ply board.
The suspects then reportedly entered the victim’s home, where a scuffle ensued. One of the suspects, who is a Firearm User’s Licence (FUL) holder, was allegedly armed with a firearm and made threats to kill, while the other two (2) suspects made threats of violence towards the victim. The altercation was eventually quelled by family members, and the suspects were removed from the premises.
A report was made to the San Fernando Police Station, and PC Cabrera was assigned to investigate. Following enquiries, instructions were received to charge the three (3) men with the offences.
The accused were each granted bail in the sum of $200,000 with surety and are awaiting a sufficiency hearing date.
