According to reports, at least five (5) people are dead and five (5) others injured after an Amazon Prime cargo plane overran the runway at Miami International Airport this afternoon (Sunday 6th September, 2026), crashing into multiple vehicles before catching fire. A full ground stop has been issued for the Airport. The terrifying incident is said to have occurred while the plane was attempting to land at the Airport, around 2:00 PM local time, according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Airport Officials. Authorities have not yet released further details on the fatalities or the injuries. A gyro operator suffered burns about the body during a violent attempted robbery at a gyro cart along Montrose Main Road, Chaguanas, early Thursday morning (27th August, 2026). According to reports, the operator of the gyro cart, located near Subway, was approached by two (2) masked men, both dressed in dark clothing, around 3:00 AM. One of the men announced a robbery before throwing kerosene on the victim and the counter of the business. The suspect then set the kerosene alight, causing burn injuries to the operator and damage to the gyro cart. As the attack unfolded, however, the victim armed himself with a cutlass and struck the first suspect several times about the body, causing injuries. The injured suspect — a 14-year-old boy — then ran South through the Subway compound and escaped. His accomplice fled in the opposite direction on a bicycle along Montrose Main Road. A business on Ariapita Avenue in Woodbrook was the target of a brazen early-morning arson attack on Tuesday (18th August, 2026). According to reports, Loud Kicks Smoke Shop, located at 65 Ariapita Avenue, Woodbrook, was locked and secured shortly before 10:30 PM on Monday night (17th August, 2026) by the Manager, who then left the premises. However, around 4:50 AM on Tuesday morning, the Owner was alerted that a fire alarm had been activated by SWAT Security Services. The Manager subsequently returned to the business shortly after 5:00 AM and reportedly found smoke emanating from the building, with flames already visible. Fire Services were called and Fire Officers were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. A woman was hospitalized after she was allegedly set on fire by her son during a domestic dispute at their home in Penal on Monday (3rd August, 2026). The victim has been identified as 66-year-old Tara Bridgelal of Rochard Road, Penal. According to reports, the family had cooked food and were liming and drinking downstairs, when an argument started between the victim and her son, 40-year-old Regan Bridgelal. At some point, Regan’s father, Chaitram Bridgelal, left the scene while the argument continued between Tara and Regan. The woman allegedly went upstairs and was soon followed by Regan, where it is alleged he threw a liquid on her in a bathroom before setting her ablaze. However, in an interview with Crime Watch host, Ian Alleyne, Regan, who openly admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana occasionally, denied the allegations, stating that he attempted to put out the fire by throwing water on his mother. UPDATE: Owner of the destroyed home, Candice Gosine, is claiming that her former boyfriend was responsible for the attack, alleging that he had been terrorizing her and her family for months, leading up to the devastating fire. Gosine said the ordeal began last year, when her ex-boyfriend repeatedly threatened to kill her and her relatives and warned that he would not stop until they were all dead. She alleged that the night before the fire, the man came to her home, pelted the house with large stones and threatened to burn it down before leaving. Upon leaving for work the next morning, the suspect allegedly scaled the perimeter of the property, used a grinder to pry open two (2) safes, stole cash, jewellery and other valuables, before setting the house ablaze, according to Gosine. A large fire destroyed the PS Sawmill Outlet in Montrose, Chaguanas, early this morning (Tuesday 14th July, 2026), causing extensive damage to the furniture and hardwood supplier. Central Auto Spares & Accessories, located right next door, may have also sustained damage during the fire. According to reports, the blaze started at the business place, located near the traffic lights by Subway in Montrose, around 2:30 AM, and quickly spread. Fire Services were notified and responded to the scene. The blaze was subsequently extinguished. The PS Sawmill Outlet supplies furniture as well as cedar, teak and other locally-sourced hardwoods. Police are investigating a suspected arson attack at a home in San Fernando early Tuesday morning (7th July, 2026), in which three (3) vehicles were deliberately set ablaze. According to the owner of the vehicles, Nigel Seenathsingh Nitalien, he had parked and secured his vehicles at his home in Union Hall the previous evening, before retiring to bed. However, around 2:45 AM, he was awoken by a neighbour who alerted him that his vehicles, a black Audi A6, an Isuzu D-Max and a Nissan Laurel, were on fire. Police and Fire Services were notified and responded to the scene. Fire Officers from the Mon Repos Fire Station were able to quickly extinguish the blaze. A massive fire caused millions of dollars in damage early Friday morning (3rd July, 2026) in Gasparillo, after destroying a two-storey building housing A&S Fyzool Supermarket and a home along Bonne Aventure Road. According to reports, the blaze started shortly before 4:00 AM and left seven (7) people homeless. The family lived on the upper floor of the building, while the supermarket operated on the ground floor. Firefighters are said to have battled the blaze for hours as chemicals, automotive oil and other flammable substances stored on the compound provided fuel for the fire. Owner of A&S Fyzool Supermarket, Rick Mohammed, said a neighbour alerted him to the fire around 4:30 AM. A plane carrying twelve (12) people — a pilot and eleven (11) skydivers — while on a skydiving outing in Missouri, crashed in a field and became engulfed in flames on Sunday morning (14th June, 2026), killing all aboard. The plane is said to have turned around for an unknown reason before crashing near a Highway. Director of the Bates County Emergency Management Agency and the Acting Airport Manager, Dennis Jacobs, said he suspects the plane experienced power issues prior to the devastating crash. Two (2) women are dead following a devastating fire at an apartment building in Port-of-Spain last night (Friday 12th June, 2026). The deceased have been identified as 23-year-old Aaliyah Griffith and 60-year-old Susan Ramlogan.  A baby was miraculously rescued from the burning building. According to reports, Fire Officials responded to a fire at the Coehlo Building, located along Prince Street between Charlotte and Nelson Streets, around 9:30 PM. Officers said approximately thirty (30) people were living on the third floor of the building and, upon arrival, rescued four (4) people, some from inside the building and others from the roof. Those rescued ranged in age between eighteen (18) and fifty-five (55). The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is confirming that one of its buses caught fire at approximately 1:15 PM this afternoon (Wednesday 13th May, 2026) along the Priority Bus Route (PBR), in the vicinity of the Mount Lambert traffic lights. The Corporation notes that at the time of the incident, the bus was not in service and there were no passengers onboard. Emergency response personnel from both the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) were contacted and responded to the scene. The fire was successfully brought under control. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the PTSC, who said it will “continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.” PTSC added that it “remains committed to the safety of its employees, passengers and the general public.” More on this as it becomes available.

Investigators say everything inside, including furniture, appliances, and personal belongings, was lost in the fire. An elderly woman is dead following a fire at her home in Laventille on Thursday night (2nd April, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 84-year-old Elise Morris of Robinson Lane, Success Village, Laventille. According to reports, Morris, who used a wheelchair, was on the upper floor of her two-storey home, when the house caught fire, around 8:26 PM.   Neighbours alerted the Fire Service as two (2) children, aged three (3) and ten (10), managed to safely escape the home. Fire Officers from the Wrightson Road and Morvant Fire Stations responded to the scene, where the house was already engulfed in flames, and subsequently extinguished the blaze. The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) South Divisional Headquarters in Mon Repos, San Fernando, was placed on lockdown from 3:23 PM to 5:27 PM on Tuesday afternoon (31st March, 2026), after a suspicious suitcase was discovered in the appliance room used by Fire Officers. The Ministry of Education is providing an update regarding a fire incident on Monday afternoon (23rd March, 2026) at Carapichaima West Secondary School. In a Media Release today (Tuesday 24th March, 2026), the Ministry said smoke was detected at approximately 1:50 PM in a room located on the top floor of the Form 5 building block. “The school's emergency response protocols were immediately activated, and by 1:55 PM, all staff and students were safely evacuated to the designated muster point. The Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) was contacted immediately, and responded promptly.” At the time of the incident, forty-two (42) teachers and one hundred and three (103) students were present on the compound. No injuries or casualties were reported, and ambulance services remained on standby throughout the incident. The Ministry is advising that Form 5 students had successfully completed their Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) mock examinations prior to the incident. ...

Flow is advising customers across some communities in Central Trinidad, including Cunupia, Las Lomas, Kelly Village, Longdenville and environs, who may be experiencing service interruptions, that this is due to damage to its fibre cables caused by a fire.  In a Notice issued this afternoon (Sunday 22nd March, 2026), Flow said, “Our repair teams are already on-site working to restore your service in the shortest time possible. The Range Rover is said to belong to the host of “Real Talk With Saieed Ali.” A Range Rover was destroyed by fire in an arson attack at Real Talk Group of Companies in Chaguanas early this morning (Wednesday 11th March, 2026). According to reports, a black Range Rover (PDG 773) was set ablaze in front the business place, located along Caroni Savannah Road, Chaguanas, around 1:25 AM. Police and Fire Services were alerted. An elderly woman is dead following a fire at a two-storey residence in Morvant on Friday morning (6th March, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 74-year-old Marachia “Agnes” Hernandez of LP #26 First Caledonia Road, who lived in a ground-floor apartment of the home. Tight security measures are said to have prevented her rescue. According to reports, screams were heard coming from the ground-floor, around 11:30 AM, which alerted the couple living upstairs, Arlene Richards and Patrick Walsh, as well as neighbours, to the fire in Hernandez's apartment. Richards said the intense smell of smoke had earlier raised her suspicion that a fire had broken out somewhere. “I shout 'fire downstairs!’ The only thing I grabbed was my phone.
