A woman has been left traumatized after she was robbed of $30,000 in cash while walking near East Gates Mall, Trincity, on Friday afternoon (18th September, 2026). The robbery occurred shortly after she withdrew the cash from Republic Bank Limited (RBL) in Trincity. According to reports, the victim was walking towards East Gates Mall after leaving the bank, when she was approached by two (2) men unknown to her, around 12:05 PM. The men allegedly announced a robbery, dealt the woman several blows to her body and then relieved her of a handbag, which contained the $30,000 in cash.  The suspects then fled on foot before entering a waiting vehicle.  Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the robbery in broad daylight. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a 30-year-old Maraval woman was granted bail with surety in the sum of $95,000, after she appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with three (3) fraud offences. The TTPS said Sonnelle Williams, aka ‘Sonnelle Maharaj,’ of Saddle Road, was charged with forgery, uttering a forged document and attempting to obtain the sum of $85,000 by false pretenses, when she appeared before Master Abraham on Monday (14th, September, 2026). She was granted bail and the matter postponed to 10th February, 2027 for a Status Hearing. The accused was also ordered to report to the Maraval Police Station once a week between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Reports indicate that in September 2026, a woman went to a commercial bank and attempted to withdraw $85,000 from an account. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) teenaged children were among four (4) people arrested in Morvant on Sunday (13th September, 2026), after Police intercepted a car and found two (2) firearms and a quantity of ammunition inside. The TTPS said North Eastern Division (NED) Task Force Officers conducted “Operation Resolute Shield” between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The exercise was spearheaded by W/Snr. Supt. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), four (4) men were arrested and eight (8) street checks conducted during Operation VTRAP (Vehicular Theft Reduction and Prevention), aimed at reducing and preventing motor vehicle larceny in areas West of the North Central Division. The TTPS said around 4:45 AM this morning (Monday 14th September, 2026), while conducting checks along the Eastern Main Road, St. Augustine, PC Redhead and a party of Officers stopped a white Nissan Wingroad, which was proceeding West along the roadway at a high rate of speed with its headlights off, in the vicinity of a school. The Ministry of Education said it is aware of a reported incident at the San Juan North Secondary School which occurred on Thursday (10th September, 2026), involving the entry of an unauthorized individual onto the school compound and the reported robbery of personal property from a member of staff. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is currently investigating the matter. In a Media Release on Saturday (12th September, 2026), the Ministry said in response to the incident, it has “initiated emergency works to address an identified vulnerability along the rear perimeter of the school compound. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a male suspect, described by investigators as the “mastermind” behind two (2) reports of robbery with violence against TT RideShare (TTRS) drivers, has been arrested and is to be charged in connection with the incidents. Reports indicate that a 25-year-old victim was driving his Toyota Yaris around 7:45 PM on 10th June, 2026, when he received a request via the TTRS app for a location drop-off in the Laventille area. The victim proceeded to 8th Avenue, Barataria, where he picked up a man and proceeded to Laventille Road. There, he allegedly observed a man walking along the roadway armed with a gun. A Princes Town man pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with violence before the South Master’s Court on Thursday (3rd September, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Anthony Ramcharan, 47, of 5th Street East, Corinth Settlement, Princes Town, appeared before Master Bethelemy and pleaded guilty to the charge. He was subsequently sentenced to sixteen (16) months’ hard labour. The charge stems from a report made by the victim, who alleged that he was plying his taxi for hire when he picked up a passenger at St. Charles Junction, Princes Town, who asked to be taken to Cipero Street, San Fernando. Upon arriving at the destination, the 62-year-old victim reported feeling a sharp blow to the back of his head before the suspect snatched $210 from his hand and exited the vehicle before making his escape. Several employees of a casino have been left traumatized after they were ambushed and robbed outside of the establishment on Lower High Street, San Fernando, on Thursday night (3rd September, 2026). According to reports, while the workers were standing outside and securing the premises, a white Suzuki motor car pulled up behind the victims’ vehicle, shortly before 10:00 PM. Two (2) armed men, including the driver, alighted from the vehicle, wearing full camouflage clothing with their heads covered, and confronted the group. The men announced a robbery, which led a mother in the group to instinctively shield her infant as the terrifying incident unfolded.  The bandits reportedly grabbed a bag containing more than $17,000 in cash before returning to the idling vehicle, which then sped away. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) teenagers were arrested and a stolen vehicle recovered after quick work by Officers in the Northern Division. The TTPS said around 11:30 AM on Thursday (3rd September, 2026), Officers on mobile patrol received a transmission of a report of robbery. They were informed that a white-coloured Nissan AD wagon had been stolen at gunpoint in the Sangre Grande district. Acting on intelligence, the Officers proceeded to Lisa Morris Julian Boulevard, Arima, where they intercepted the vehicle. Two (2) suspects, a 19-year-old from Febeau Village, San Juan and a 17-year-old from Quarry Road, San Juan, were arrested. An elderly couple has been left traumatized following a brazen home invasion and robbery at their Gasparillo residence on Tuesday afternoon (1st September, 2026). According to reports, the 82-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were sitting in the porch of their home, located in Bonne Aventure, Gasparillo, when two (2) masked gunmen approached, announced a robbery and began beating them about their bodies, around 1:30 PM. The victims were then reportedly bound with tie-straps and forced onto the floor while the men searched the house for cash and valuables. The bandits subsequently fled along Morne Roche Road in the couple’s silver Nissan B14, valued at about $30,000, taking the man’s wallet, identification and bank cards, along with $1,700 in cash. They also took the woman’s handbag, $300 in cash, identification and bank cards, as well as a gold chain and earrings, valued at a combined $2,050. A gyro operator suffered burns about the body during a violent attempted robbery at a gyro cart along Montrose Main Road, Chaguanas, early Thursday morning (27th August, 2026). According to reports, the operator of the gyro cart, located near Subway, was approached by two (2) masked men, both dressed in dark clothing, around 3:00 AM. One of the men announced a robbery before throwing kerosene on the victim and the counter of the business. The suspect then set the kerosene alight, causing burn injuries to the operator and damage to the gyro cart. As the attack unfolded, however, the victim armed himself with a cutlass and struck the first suspect several times about the body, causing injuries. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), three (3) men have been arrested after allegedly attempting to trick a company out of more than $40,000 worth of sausages. The TTPS said around 8:30 PM last night (Thursday 27th August, 2026), a company representative went to the Erin Police Station and reported that earlier that day, around 10:00 AM, a person claiming to be a supermarket employee placed an order for 100 cases of Chicken Franks (400g) valued at $24,000, and sixty-one (61) cases of Chicken Franks (Jumbo) valued at $17,019 — a total of $41,019. Around 12:00 PM, a flatbed transport truck arrived on the compound and the aforementioned items were loaded on the truck and the driver drove off. A woman reportedly lost $40,000 in cash when her handbag was stolen from a business place in Woodbrook on Thursday (27th August, 2026) in front of numerous witnesses. According to CCTV footage of the incident, the woman was seated at a table with her white handbag on a chair next to her at a restaurant, when a man wearing a green shirt, grey shorts and black sneakers walked up to her, grabbed the bag then ran off in a matter of seconds. The woman was unaware of what took place. However, witnesses alerted her that her bag was stolen and an alarm was raised. While unconfirmed, it is believed the woman may have earlier withdrawn the cash from her bank and was followed to the food establishment in Woodbrook, where she was targeted. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a Sangre Grande man was granted bail with surety in the sum of $100,000, after he appeared before the High Court, charged with misbehaviour in public office and firearm-related offences, arising out of an investigation into a missing TTPS firearm and ammunition at the Mayaro Police Station, in July 2026. He is the second person to be charged in this matter. Police are investigating a brazen robbery in which nearly $100,000 in payroll cash was stolen after Venezuelan gunmen assaulted a payroll clerk at a construction site in Santa Cruz on Friday afternoon (14th August, 2026). According to reports, a 51-year-old Venezuelan national arrived at the construction site, located along North Hills, Cutucupano Road, Santa Cruz, carrying approximately $94,000 in cash in a knapsack. The funds were intended to pay approximately seventy (70) workers who were employed on the project. However, a few moments later, two (2) armed men entered the site, confronted the payroll clerk and announced a robbery, around 2:07 PM. A man was arrested and a vehicle recovered following a report of robbery with violence in Caroni on Monday afternoon (10th August, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 2:05 PM, the victim, a 53-year-old proprietor, was in her husband’s vehicle at the side of the roadway in front of her home, located along Caroni South Bank Road, Caroni, when two (2) men alighted from a red Hyundai vehicle. One of the men reportedly shouted, “Gimme the money!” and grabbed the victim by her arm. The victim, who became fearful, handed over a small white envelope containing TT $1,000 in cash. A businessman, who was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, was granted bail in the sum of $75,000 with a surety, when he appeared before Master Tracey Vidale on Friday (7th August, 2026).
