43-Year-Old Woman Arrested — Firearm, Ammunition, Cannabis Seized In Curepe

A woman was arrested after Police seized an AR rifle, ammunition, cannabis and cannabis-infused products during an intelligence-led operation, conducted in the Northern North and North Central Divisions in Curepe last night (Friday 31st July, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), between the hours of 7:00 PM and 10:00 PM, acting on intelligence, Officers of the Northern North Division Task Force conducted a house search at a residence on Harris Street, Curepe, the home of the suspect, where the following items were found in a bedroom: A black suitcase containing five (5) compressed packets of cannabis, amounting to 2.6 kilogrammes. A bag containing twenty-three (23) boxes of cannabis-infused vapes and three (3) boxes of cannabis-infused chocolates. An AR rifle. Fifty (50) rounds of 9mm ammunition. T&TEC: NO Electricity On Sunday In Parts of South Trinidad

The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that planned maintenance work will affect several areas of South Trinidad on Sunday (2nd August, 2026). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works — 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.   According to T&TEC, the affected areas are as follows:  From LP #79 to LP #A135 Cipero Road, including Trainline Road, Retrench Village, HDC Corinth Hills Development Site A, B, C, Road A, Road B, Road C, Alexandria Lane, Leander Lane, Anakara Lane, Agia Lane, Demeter Lane, Midas Lane, Kalymos Circe, Esra Lane, Otus Lane, Ethon Lane, Kayala Lane, Ninus Lane, Magna Lane, Rhenea Lane, Paphos Lane, Elra Lane, Meanus Lane, Golconda Link Road, Retrench Settlement, McLean Drive, Windy Ridge, Pine Ridge Road, Hillcrest Gardens, Retrench Development, M2 Ring Road and all associated side streets. T&TEC says it regrets the inconvenience which may be caused by these interruptions.

Escaped Murder-Accused Shot Dead In Confrontation With Police In Vistabella

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is advising that an intelligence‑led operation, conducted between 4:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Friday (31st July, 2026), resulted in the fatal shooting of escaped prisoner, Robby Khadoo, and the arrest of a female for harbouring an escaped prisoner. Khadoo, known by several aliases, including Allan Charles, Joshua Dillon Chambers, Robby Dylan Khadoo and Robby Dillon Joshua Khadoo, who had been charged with murder, attempted murder, and wounding with intent, escaped lawful custody at the Arima Hospital on 3rd July, 2026 . According to the TTPS, intelligence guided Officers of the Home Invasion Team (HIT), Southern Divisional Task Force (SDTF) and Marabella Police Station, to a location at Fabien Street, Vistabella. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect generally hot, sunny and hazy conditions today (Saturday 1st August, 2026), with the chance of brief isolated showers, favouring hilly areas. Tonight will be generally fair, but a few partly cloudy spells and showers are possible. The Met Office notes that relatively mild concentrations of Saharan dust are currently present. Sensitive persons are advised to take the necessary precautions. The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 31°C at Crown Point in Tobago.  Seas are slight to moderate with waves 1.2m to 1.5m in open waters and below 0.5m and choppy near showers in sheltered areas.  Please continue to pay attention to the latest forecasts, alerts, and information issued by the TTMS.
