The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising customers that planned maintenance work will affect several areas of Freeport on Thursday (11th June, 2026). This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works — 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.   According to T&TEC, the affected areas in Freeport are as follows:  From LP #A52 heading East up to LP #83A along Freeport Village Road then unto Arena Road up to LP #A136 and all associated side streets, inclusive of La Cuesa Road, Raphael Road and Uquire Road. T&TEC says it regrets the inconvenience which may be caused by these interruptions.

This may result in loss of electricity between the hours of works — 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.   According to T&TEC, the affected areas in Bamboo are as follows:  From Second Street, including Bamboo Settlement Road, Bamboo #3 Boulevard, Boodram Drive, Capildeo Drive and all associated side streets. These works are scheduled to take place between 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Friday (5th June, 2026) and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Sunday (7th June, 2026), along the Uriah Butler Highway, between the Bamboo Village Overpass and the Caroni River. The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is advising motorists that it will be conducting emergency underground work today (Wednesday 3rd June, 2026) in the vicinity of Republic Bank, Ellerslie Plaza, Maraval. The work is necessary to repair a fault on an underground high voltage cable and, as a result, there will be an interruption in the flow of traffic on the Northbound lane of Saddle Road until 8:00 PM. The Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC) is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the person or persons involved in two (2) acts of vandalism at its WASA Beetham Substation in Port-of-Spain. In a Media Release on Saturday (30th May, 2026), T&TEC said its emergency crews responded to an outage originating from its WASA Beetham Substation at approximately 2:00 PM on Friday (29th May, 2026), where several sections of control cables had apparently been cut and removed. Crews were able to quickly transfer the load to another circuit and restore supply to affected customers within thirty (30) minutes. However, at approximately 6:00 AM on Saturday morning, T&TEC said another intrusion occurred. Security footage captured a man entering the substation compound who, in attempting to cut cables, triggered an explosion and fire. The man hurriedly fled the scene. The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in several parts of North, Central and South Trinidad that there will be a temporary disruption to their pipe-borne water supply, due to essential works being carried out by the Trinidad and Tobago Electricity Commission (T&TEC). In a Media Release today (Friday 29th May, 2026), the Authority said T&TEC will “execute a critical 20/25MVA transformer installation at the Caroni Arena Substation, located at the Caroni Water Treatment Plant.
