44 Undocumented Immigrants Detained During Anti-Crime Exercise In Princes Town
Forty-four (44) undocumented immigrants have been detained following a co-ordinated anti-crime operation conducted by the Southern Division Task Force (SDTF) on Saturday (29th March, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the exercise, conducted between 6:00 PM and 11:30 PM, targeted a premises located at Malgretoute Village, Princes Town, which was reportedly being used for illegal gambling activities, including cockfighting. Upon entry by Officers, a large number of individuals attempted to flee the location, with some persons jumping from the second floor of the building. Despite these efforts, Officers successfully detained several individuals, including the forty-four (44) foreign nationals, who are now being held, pending further immigration enquiries.
