Woman Robbed of $30,000 In Cash — Moments After Leaving Republic Bank, Trincity

A woman has been left traumatized after she was robbed of $30,000 in cash while walking near East Gates Mall, Trincity, on Friday afternoon (18th September, 2026). The robbery occurred shortly after she withdrew the cash from Republic Bank Limited (RBL) in Trincity. According to reports, the victim was walking towards East Gates Mall after leaving the bank, when she was approached by two (2) men unknown to her, around 12:05 PM. The men allegedly announced a robbery, dealt the woman several blows to her body and then relieved her of a handbag, which contained the $30,000 in cash.  The suspects then fled on foot before entering a waiting vehicle.  Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the robbery in broad daylight. Closure of Board of Inland Revenue South Regional Office On Monday

The Board of Inland Revenue (BIR) is advising members of the public that the South Regional Office, located at #52 Cipero Street, San Fernando, will be closed on Monday (21st September, 2026) in order to facilitate critical maintenance work. Digicel Increasing D’ Plan Prepaid Prices From 19th October, 2026

Telecommunications provider, Digicel Trinidad and Tobago, is set to increase prices on several of its prepaid mobile plans, effective from next month, on 19th October, 2026. The changes are described as part of an adjustment to its mobile plans in response to changing conditions in the telecommunications industry. According to Digicel, the updated pricing will allow it to continue investing in its network, technology and services while maintaining the quality of service offered to customers. Under the new pricing structure, customers will see revised prices across the D’ Weekly, D’ Fortnight, D’ Lite, D’ Freedom and D’ All In plans, as follows: D’ Weekly Flex Plan will be priced at $125, while the D’ Weekly Classic Plan will cost $150. 22-Year-Old La Romaine Man Arrested, Firearm Scopes And Magazines Seized

A La Romaine man has been arrested following a search conducted by Officers of the Southern Division. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), at approximately 6:00 PM on Thursday (17th September, 2026), WPC Skeete and PC Baldeo, Officers attached to the Southern Division Task Force, were conducting an intelligence-led exercise along the Southern Main Road, Marabella, when they stopped a silver Nissan B15 with a lone occupant. The Officers approached the vehicle, identified themselves by means of their TTPS identification cards and badges, and informed the man of their intention to conduct a search of the vehicle and his person. During a search of the area under the seat, the Officers discovered a Sig Sauer MPX firearm magazine. The 22-year-old man from Claude Street, La Romaine, was arrested and conveyed to the Marabella Police Station. TWO (2) Prison Officers And Inmate At Golden Grove Charged With Conspiracy Offences

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) Prison Officers attached to the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca, and an inmate on remand for murder, were expected to appear before a Master of the High Court on Thursday (17th September, 2026), charged with multiple offences, arising out of an attempt to smuggle illegal contraband into the prison in August 2026. The TTPS said on 24th August, 2026, a female Prison Officer (PO) was searched by Officers at the Golden Grove Prison, after she attempted to enter the premises with quantities of cannabis, cigarettes and other contraband items. She was later handed over to members of the DCP Operations Team, who commenced a 3-week long, intense investigation. BODY of Woman Found Inside Abandoned Security Booth In San Fernando — Police Investigating

The decomposing body of a woman was found inside an abandoned security booth on the compound of an old panyard in San Fernando on Wednesday morning (16th September, 2026). While unconfirmed, the deceased is believed to be Marcia Thomas Singh, who residents said appeared to be in her 60s. She had been apparently residing in the security booth for some time. According to the Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT), led by Captain Vallence Rambharat, five (5) of its members were driving along Broadway, San Fernando, when they detected a foul stench, around 9:35 AM. Upon stopping their vehicle and investigating, they observed a decomposing body on a mattress inside a small wooden security booth on the abandoned Ministry of Works compound, near to Hatters Panyard. 271 Rounds of Ammunition Seized At Residence In Couva — TWO (2) Occupants Arrested

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) persons were arrested and 271 rounds of ammunition were seized, along with two (2) rifle magazines, during an anti-crime exercise conducted by Officers of the Central Division Task Force Area South on Wednesday (16th September, 2026). The TTPS said around 6:50 AM, Officers responded to intelligence concerning the storage of firearms and ammunition at a residence located at June Street, Couva. A party of Officers proceeded to the location, where they met two (2) occupants. A search of the premises was conducted, pursuant to Regulation 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026. During the search, PC Quamina found a green and black bag in a bedroom occupied by the two (2) persons. Businessman And TTDF Soldier Charged With Fyzabad Double Murder

Two (2) men have appeared in Court, charged with a double murder which occurred in the Fyzabad district on 21st August, 2026. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), Victor Delwyn, a business owner and Shandon Woodley, a soldier attached to the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), both of Fyzabad, were charged with the murders of Richard Mc David and Anslem Nicholas , when they appeared before Master Ambrose Persadsingh, in the South Criminal Court, on Friday 11th September, 2026. The matter was adjourned to Friday 30th October, 2026.  The TTPS said Mc David and Nicholas were allegedly involved in an altercation with a group of men in the Fyzabad district on 21st August, 2026, during which they were injured and taken to the Siparia Health Facility for medical attention, where they died. NCRHA Launches Free Golf Cart Service At Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex

The North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) launched two (2) eight-seater golf carts at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope today (Wednesday 16th September, 2026) to assist patients, visitors and staff in moving around the Hospital compound, as part of its ongoing commitment to patient care. In a Media Release, the NCRHA said the golf carts will be positioned at clinic areas and the main entrance to transport patients to and from the car park. The service will make it easier for patients, families and staff who need assistance to move around the large Hospital complex. The initiative is expected to be beneficial to elderly patients, particularly those who are immobile, those with limited mobility and members of the public who have difficulty moving across the compound. The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers of unplanned service interruption as a result of reduced production to the Carlsen Field Water Treatment Plant, due to a burnt meter at Carlsen Field Well #11.   Affected areas are as follows:  Carlsen Field Farm proper, Thompson Road, Sou Sou Lands, Success Trace, parts of Edinburgh Road, Arena Road Upper and Lower, La Quesa Road, Mission Road from Freeport overpass along Mission Road up to Lime Fruit Junction, Cashew Gardens 1, 2, and 3, Nadira Gardens, Ravine Sable and Palmiste. 30-Year-Old Maraval Woman Attempts To Withdraw $85,000 From Bank Using Forged ID Card

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a 30-year-old Maraval woman was granted bail with surety in the sum of $95,000, after she appeared before a Master of the High Court, charged with three (3) fraud offences. The TTPS said Sonnelle Williams, aka ‘Sonnelle Maharaj,’ of Saddle Road, was charged with forgery, uttering a forged document and attempting to obtain the sum of $85,000 by false pretenses, when she appeared before Master Abraham on Monday (14th, September, 2026). She was granted bail and the matter postponed to 10th February, 2027 for a Status Hearing. The accused was also ordered to report to the Maraval Police Station once a week between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Reports indicate that in September 2026, a woman went to a commercial bank and attempted to withdraw $85,000 from an account. 36-Year-Old Businessman Shot Dead In Vehicle In Malabar; Woman Wounded — 11 Spent Shells Found

A man is dead and a woman critically wounded following a shooting incident in Malabar on Friday afternoon (11th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Bhyman “Bobby” Madhoo of Boi Bande Village, Ojoe Road, Sangre Grande — the owner of Madhoo Interiors. He was allegedly lured to a location under the pretext of conducting a site visit to provide an estimate. According to reports, Madhoo was in the driver’s seat of a green Kia Soul (PDG 6620), parked on the Northern side of the roadway, facing West along Holly Betaudier Boulevard, Malabar, with a woman in the front passenger seat, when a lone gunman approached and opened fire, around 4:15 PM. Madhoo suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body and the woman, later identified as 38-year-old Rohini Jawahir of Unity Lane, Carapo, was also wounded in the shooting. Services Restored At Wrightson Road Licensing Office After Electrical Disruption

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising members of the public that services at the Licensing Office, Wrightson Road, Port-of-Spain, have been fully restored following electrical issues today (Tuesday 15th September, 2026). While services were expected to be restored by 2:00 PM this afternoon, the electrical issues persisted beyond that time. Members of the public may now access services at the Licensing Office as normal. TV6 visited the Wrightson Road Licensing Office, where people were seen lining up and being turned away. Members of the public said the system had been down since Monday. T&T Coast Guard Intercepts Vessel With Over $204.5M Worth of Cocaine — FOUR (4) Men Held

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) said it intercepted a pirogue on Monday (14th September, 2026) in the Northern region of the Gulf of Paria. Four (4) men were on board the vessel, along with a quantity of packages, individually wrapped in plastic — suspected to be narcotics. The vessel was escorted to Coast Guard Headquarters, Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, where further searches were conducted. The packages, persons, and the vessel were handed over to the relevant law enforcement authorities for further processing. In a Media Release today (Tuesday 15th September, 2026), the TTCG said, “The contents of the 394 sealed packages seized by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard during a maritime operation in the Northern region of the Gulf of Paria have been confirmed as cocaine, following analysis by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.” The seizure totalled 440.20 Kg, with an estimated street value of TT $204,534,528. Teenagers Among FOUR (4) Held In Morvant — Guns, Ammunition Found In Car

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) teenaged children were among four (4) people arrested in Morvant on Sunday (13th September, 2026), after Police intercepted a car and found two (2) firearms and a quantity of ammunition inside. The TTPS said North Eastern Division (NED) Task Force Officers conducted “Operation Resolute Shield” between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. The exercise was spearheaded by W/Snr. Supt. Guy-Alleyne and Ag./ASP Taylor, co-ordinated by Ag./Insp. Ramsingh and Sgt. Martin, and supervised by Cpl. Daneil. Special attention was paid to the Morvant district, namely the Second Caledonia, Vegas, Cipriani Avenue, Chinapoo and Pitch Road areas.
