77-Year-Old Penal Man Missing — Vehicle Found Burnt In Claxton Bay

UPDATE: Missing businessman Tarran Gallai walked into his home on Monday, hours after his vehicle was found burnt in Claxton Bay. Gallai reportedly told Police he was accosted by two (2) men near a pharmacy in Couva. There are also reports that more than $150,000 was either withdrawn or spent through his bank account during his disappearance.

The Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT) said, “Police Officers attached to the Penal Police Station, led by Sergeant Narine, Police Officers attached to the St. Margaret’s Police Station and Police Officers attached to the Anti Kidnapping Unit began working on this case with Hunters Search and Rescue Team, led by Captain Vallence Rambharat and relatives. Due to the nature of this case, Tarran is currently being interviewed by the Police. Our teammates Kesraj ‘Tonga’ Sooknanan and Crystal Sooknanan must be commended for their efforts. Commendations as well to all the Police Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service who moved swiftly and professionally. GOD IS GREAT.”

The discovery of Gallai’s burnt vehicle in Claxton Bay, his reported encounter with two (2) men and the substantial activity involving his bank account are among the circumstances currently being investigated by Police.

The Hunters Search and Rescue Team (HSRT) is seeking the public’s assistance to find a missing 77-year-old man. In a social media post today (Monday 28th September, 2026), the HSRT said Tarran Gallai of Penal was last seen on Sunday evening (27th September, 2026), when he went to visit his business property in Couva. He was driving his grey Toyota Yaris (PEL 3551) at the time. 

However, the vehicle was found burnt in Claxton Bay this morning.

His relatives are in contact with the team.

UPDATE (09/09/26): CCTV footage has emerged of the altercation on 1st January, 2026 at the car park of a supermarket in Princes Town, which resulted in the death of Dr. Gerard Roopnarine several months later. Police have located the man seen being stabbed in a video circulating on social media. He was reportedly found at a Hospital and is receiving medical treatment. The injured man, who is listed in stable condition, has been identified as Keon Brown of Second Street, Barataria. 22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced Hinkson dead at the scene. Police have not yet established a motive for this murder. 36-Year-Old Man Ambushed, Shot Dead Inside Vehicle In St. Ann’s — 61 Spent Shells Found

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in St. Ann’s this morning (Sunday 20th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Derrick Boucaud, also known as “Crempo,” of St. Ann’s, who was allegedly ambushed and killed by fake Police Officers. According to reports, Boucaud left his home and was driving his black Hyundai Elantra (PEL 6302) on Symond Valley Road, when a white Ford Focus stopped in front of the vehicle, cutting him off near Fondes Amandes Road, around 10:10 AM. A man is dead and another listed in serious condition at Hospital following a horrific road traffic accident in Cocorite on Wednesday night (9th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Binyameen Rahaman of Warren Road, Cunupia. A man and woman were found dead at an apartment in Penal last night (Friday 25th September, 2026) in an apparent murder-suicide. The deceased couple have been identified as 26-year-old Stephon Kandon and 23-year-old hairdresser, Giselle Ougrah, aka “Precious.” Ougrah is said to have operated at a popular barbershop on Market Street, Princes Town. According to reports, Ougrah was last seen by family members when she left to visit Kandon at his apartment, located along Sundarsingh Trace, Penal, on Wednesday (23rd September, 2026).
