Desalcott Shutdown: Temporary Water Supply Schedules For Central And South Trinidad

According to the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA), the Point Lisas Desalination Plant will undergo planned maintenance from 12:00 PM on Monday 28th September, 2026 to 12:00 PM on Sunday 4th October, 2026. During this period, water supply to parts of Central and South Trinidad may be affected.

UPDATE (23/09/26): The suspect accused of beating 39-year-old Andy Ramkissoon to death at “D Old Mill Bar” in Cunupia has surrendered to Police. He has been identified as Ramesh Michael Dhanesar, who turned himself in on Tuesday (22nd September, 2026) while maintaining his innocence. He was placed in handcuffs and is expected to be questioned by Police as part of their investigation. Dhanesar alleges that while at the bar, Ramkissoon placed him in a choke hold from behind, and during a brief struggle, both men fell to the floor. He also alleges that he never physically assaulted Ramkissoon and left the bar shortly after the altercation. Dhanesar also claims he was unaware of what happened to Ramkissoon after he left. Son of Inshan Ishmael RESPONDS To Viral Video Showing Confrontation At Barakah Grounds

Zaakir Ishmael, the son of late businessman and activist Inshan Ishmael , issued a statement this afternoon (Tuesday 22nd September, 2026) following the release of a video on social media which shows a heated confrontation involving himself, his wife, his uncle and others at Barakah Grounds, Narsaloo Ramaya Marg Road, Endeavour, Chaguanas. The conflict reportedly revolves around ownership of the grounds, which houses a popular Food Court. In the video, Zaakir Ishmael is heard saying, “These are my father grounds. UPDATE (09/09/26): CCTV footage has emerged of the altercation on 1st January, 2026 at the car park of a supermarket in Princes Town, which resulted in the death of Dr. Gerard Roopnarine several months later. The footage shows Dr. Roopnarine exiting his car along with a male passenger, before confronting another driver seated in a van (later identified as Sean Kewley, 62), who was seemingly blocking the path of Dr. Roopnarine’s vehicle as he attempted to reverse out of his parking spot. Moments later, after words were exchanged, Dr. Roopnarine is seen striking the driver through his open window. The driver then unbuckled his seatbelt, alighted from the van and delivered a powerful punch, instantly knocking out Dr. Roopnarine, who then collapsed to the ground. Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP, has responded to several acts of violence which were recorded and shared across social media over the long Independence Day weekend. 22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced Hinkson dead at the scene. Police have not yet established a motive for this murder. 36-Year-Old Man Ambushed, Shot Dead Inside Vehicle In St. Ann’s — 61 Spent Shells Found

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in St. Ann’s this morning (Sunday 20th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 36-year-old Derrick Boucaud, also known as “Crempo,” of St. Ann’s, who was allegedly ambushed and killed by fake Police Officers. According to reports, Boucaud left his home and was driving his black Hyundai Elantra (PEL 6302) on Symond Valley Road, when a white Ford Focus stopped in front of the vehicle, cutting him off near Fondes Amandes Road, around 10:10 AM. Two (2) masked gunmen wearing tactical fatigues and bulletproof vests alighted from the car and opened fire on Boucaud before returning to their car and driving off. Injured Man Found At Hospital Following Viral Stabbing Video In Barataria

Police have located the man seen being stabbed in a video circulating on social media. He was reportedly found at a Hospital and is receiving medical treatment. The injured man, who is listed in stable condition, has been identified as Keon Brown of Second Street, Barataria. He was reported missing after being seen in cellphone footage of a stabbing incident on Friday night (25th September, 2026) at the corner of Sixth Avenue, Malick, Barataria. The suspect has not yet been identified or arrested. Brown’s relatives reported him missing after he returned home following the incident, but was not seen or heard from since. A man is dead and another listed in serious condition at Hospital following a horrific road traffic accident in Cocorite on Wednesday night (9th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Binyameen Rahaman of Warren Road, Cunupia. According to reports, Rahaman was driving a white Nissan AD wagon, heading West along the Western Main Road with a passenger later identified as 21-year-old Faraaz Hosein of Hosein Drive, St. Lucien Road, Diego Martin. However, upon reaching the vicinity of Peake Trading Limited, Rahaman reportedly lost control of the vehicle, which entered the compound and struck a utility pole and part of the fencing, around 10:30 PM. Missing Elderly Man Found Dead Under Suitcases At House In Curepe — Police Investigating

The body of a missing pensioner was found under large suitcases at a house in Curepe on Monday afternoon (7th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Chunilal Bandoo of Mohammed Lane, Mc Inroy Street, Curepe. He was the father of a daughter, who resides in the United States. According to reports, Bandoo was last seen near his home on Saturday (5th September, 2026) while liming with friends for several hours. However, he never returned home afterwards. His relatives subsequently notified Police and filed a missing person’s report.
