Gasparillo Home Invasion: Elderly Couple Beaten, Tied Up, Robbed of Vehicle, Cash, Jewellery

An elderly couple has been left traumatized following a brazen home invasion and robbery at their Gasparillo residence on Tuesday afternoon (1st September, 2026). According to reports, the 82-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were sitting in the porch of their home, located in Bonne Aventure, Gasparillo, when two (2) masked gunmen approached, announced a robbery and began beating them about their bodies, around 1:30 PM. The victims were then reportedly bound with tie-straps and forced onto the floor while the men searched the house for cash and valuables. The bandits subsequently fled along Morne Roche Road in the couple’s silver Nissan B14, valued at about $30,000, taking the man’s wallet, identification and bank cards, along with $1,700 in cash. They also took the woman’s handbag, $300 in cash, identification and bank cards, as well as a gold chain and earrings, valued at a combined $2,050. 22-Year-Old Soldier Charged With Moruga Home Invasion

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said a 22-year-old soldier, identified as Rayshaun Ferrier, has been charged with home invasion following an incident at Samuel Cooper Trace, Fifth Company Village, Moruga, on Friday 21st August, 2026. In a Media Release on Saturday (29th August, 2026), the TTPS said at approximately 1:30 AM on Friday 21st August, 2026, two (2) men allegedly forced their way into a residence, assaulted and restrained several occupants, and demanded drugs and firearms. The suspects reportedly stole four (4) cellphones before escaping in a blue Mazda 323 motor vehicle. Cpl. Johnson and other Officers visited the scene, interviewed the occupants and canvassed the area for CCTV footage. Following enquiries by PC Dowridge and legal advice from Head Legal Advisor, Ag. Supt. TTDF Soldier Among FIVE (5) Home Invasion Suspects Captured

Quick action by Officers of the South Western Division (SWD) led to the successful arrest of five (5) home invasion suspects and the recovery of several stolen items on Saturday (8th August, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), reports state that at approximately 3:45 AM, victim 1 was in the gallery of his home at Kay Trace, Mendez Village, Siparia, when he was approached by four (4) masked men, one of whom appeared to be armed with a firearm. The men forced the victim into his home through the front door, restrained him with a charging cable and a shirt, and instructed him to lie on the floor. They then proceeded to the bedroom area, where they ransacked the room and relieved the victim of a Redmi cellular phone and a quantity of jewellery. 64-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Arima Home — Wife, Daughter Wounded; 16 Spent Shells Found

A man is dead and his wife and daughter wounded following a violent home invasion in Arima late last night (Wednesday 1st July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Richard Maloney of Demerara Road, Arima. His teenage son was killed in a similar attack at the same home in 2022. According to reports, the family heard knocking at their back door and voices shouting, “Police, open up,” around 11:00 PM on Wednesday night. Believing the men were legitimate Police Officers, Maloney opened the door. However, two (2) masked gunmen immediately forced their way into the house and opened fire, hitting Maloney, his wife, Deidra, and their 15-year-old daughter, before fleeing. Maloney sustained multiple gunshot wounds and collapsed near the back door.  Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the residence. 75-Year-Old Woman Suffocates To Death During Violent Barrackpore Home Invasion

An elderly woman is dead following a violent home invasion and robbery in Barrackpore on Saturday (27th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Tara Bridgemohan of Hassanali Trace, Barrackpore. She was tied up and suffocated to death during the terrifying ordeal. According to reports, intruders gained entry to the property by breaking in through the lower level of the house before making their way upstairs. They reportedly forced open a bedroom door, confronted the elderly woman, and tightly bound her hands and feet with tie-straps. She was also allegedly suffocated in an effort to muzzle her screams.  The bandits then ransacked the home in search of valuables and subsequently escaped with a quantity of jewellery and approximately US $1,000 in cash. Preventive Detention Orders Sought For 11 Held In Gasparillo Anti-Crime Operations

Eleven (11) persons were arrested during an intelligence-led anti-crime operation conducted in the Gasparillo district during the period of 6th June, 2026 and 15th June, 2026.  According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the operation was conducted to “curb and detect the increase in home invasions, robberies, firearm-related offences, breakings and drug-related offences in the district. Substantial efforts were made on apprehending offenders responsible for the crimes committed.” During the exercise, Officers arrested eleven (11) male suspects, ages sixteen (16) to thirty-four (34), of Gasparillo, Golconda, Point Fortin and Williamsville.  The TTPS notes that following intensive and in-depth investigations, applications for Preventive Detention Orders (PDOs) were made, with eight (8) being granted and three (3) pending.  The operation was co-ordinated by Snr. Gun-Toting Man Shot Dead By Police Hours After Firing Shot Into Air In San Fernando

UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Damani Lewis, who was believed to be involved in several violent offences, including home invasions, firearm-related crimes, shooting incidents, larcenies and sexual offences involving a minor. Officers received intelligence on Wednesday 10th June, 2026 that the suspect was hiding at an apartment in Cypress Ridge, Union Hall, San Fernando. Acting under the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026, Officers entered the premises shortly after 12:00 PM and began a systematic search of the apartment. During the exercise, Officers reportedly discovered the suspect hiding in the ceiling of the apartment.  The man attempted to evade capture but fell through the ceiling into another room. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is investigating a Police‑involved shooting incident which occurred during a home invasion in progress in the Cunupia District, early this morning (Wednesday 20th May, 2026). According to the TTPS, around 4:30 AM, Officers were alerted by the E999 Command Centre to a report of a “man on premises,” where the homeowners were out of the country.  Upon arrival, Officers from the Central Division Task Force and Cunupia Police Station heard crashing sounds emanating from within the building. The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said it has successfully disrupted another organized home invasion crew; less than a week after the dismantling of the “Tall Boots Crew” in the Central Division . This development was as a direct result of swift investigative work and co-ordinated operational action across multiple units. According to the TTPS, this latest incident began around 10:08 AM on Wednesday (6th May, 2026), when four (4) masked men posing as customers descended upon the home of a 67‑year‑old pensioner at Ben Lomond Village, Gasparillo. The suspects, armed and disguised in coveralls and masks, forced their way into the residence, assaulted the victim, and robbed them before escaping in a grey Toyota Aqua (PEL 6685). The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is providing the following update into investigations surrounding a group of individuals, informally referred to as the “Tall Boots Crew,” believed to be responsible for a series of home invasion incidents, across the Cunupia, Las Lomas, Chaguanas, Freeport, and Longdenville districts, over the past several weeks. According to Assistant Commissioner of Police, Richard Smith, on Saturday (2nd May, 2026), Officers executed a co-ordinated multi-agency operation , which resulted in the decisive disruption of the group’s activities. The operation involved personnel from the Home Invasion Team (HIT), Central Division Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Central Division Task Force, Guard and Emergency Branch, Canine Unit, the Air Support Unit and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF). The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) has provided an updated statement regarding the ongoing joint security operation being conducted in collaboration with the Trinidad and Tobago Defence Force (TTDF), following an armed home invasion and robbery at a residence in Cunupia early this morning (Saturday 2nd May, 2026). In a Media Release this afternoon, DCP Operations, Suzette Martin, said, “I can now confirm that an additional suspect was fatally shot after reportedly engaging Police Officers during an operation at approximately 12:30 PM today. This brings the total number of deceased suspects in connection with this matter to four (4).” Three (3) of the suspects were fatally shot by Officers during an armed confrontation in the Jonathan Trace area of Cunupia. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), three (3) men appeared before a San Fernando High Court Master, jointly charged with two (2) offences arising out of an incident which occurred on 20th April, 2026. The TTPS said Naresh Joseph, a 34-year-old Security Officer, Ricardo Baptiste, a 24-year-old Security Officer, and Renando Baptiste, a 22-year-old Security Officer, appeared before Master Sarah De Silva, charged jointly with home invasion and malicious damage, on Monday (27th April, 2026). Freeport Family Robbed of Cash, Jewellery, Valuables In Armed Home Invasion

A family of five (5) has been left traumatized following an armed home invasion in Freeport early Tuesday morning (7th April, 2026). According to reports, the victims, including a 51-year-old truck driver of Teewarie Road, his 42-year-old wife, and three (3) other occupants, aged twenty-two (22), twenty (20) and thirteen (13), were asleep when they were awakened by a loud crashing noise, around 4:45 AM. Upon investigating, they were confronted by three (3) men, one (1) armed with a firearm and two (2) wielding cutlasses, who announced a robbery. The intruders ordered the occupants to lie on the ground before ransacking the house. The bandits made off with approximately $600 in cash, a quantity of jewellery and a Samsung A32 cellphone. Officers of the Home Invasion Team arrested a 17-year-old male of Farm Road, St. Joseph, during an intelligence-led operation on Tuesday (17th March, 2026), in connection with a recent home invasion at Valsayn Avenue, North Valsayn . The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) is informing the public of a home invasion incident which occurred on Monday (16th March, 2026), at approximately 12:59 PM, at a residence along Valsayn Avenue, Valsayn North. According to the TTPS, Police reports indicate that four (4) male suspects, armed with weapons, entered the home-for-the-aged by scaling a perimeter wall. A man is dead following a Police-involved shooting incident in St. Joseph on Monday afternoon (16th March, 2026). The deceased has been identified as Sharaz Samaroo, aka ‘Glasses,’ who was allegedly involved in a home invasion earlier that day in Valsayn. According to reports, four (4) masked men entered a family’s home along Valsayn Avenue, shortly before 1:00 PM. The men confronted an elderly woman who was seated on a couch inside the house. However, before they could carry out the robbery, the assailants were startled by a male occupant of the house and quickly made their escape. The incident was captured on CCTV footage inside the home.   The suspects are said to have entered the family’s home from Farm Road (Bangladesh), located at the back of their property. UPDATE (13/03/26): The victim’s stolen Nissan Sylphy was recovered in Embacadere, San Fernando, on Thursday (12th March, 2026). A man was bound, beaten and robbed during a violent home invasion in Williamsville on Wednesday afternoon (11th March, 2026). According to reports, four (4) armed men stormed the victim’s home, located along Corosal Road, around 5:45 PM. The assailants confronted the 38-year-old man, tied him up and assaulted him during the ordeal. The bandits then stole cash and jewellery before escaping with the victim’s silver Nissan Sylphy (PDK 651). Police were alerted and responded to the scene. Point Fortin Man Charged With Robbery With Violence Following Claxton Bay Home Invasion

A Point Fortin man has been charged in connection with an incident of robbery with violence, which occurred at approximately 7:30 AM on 14th October, 2025, in Claxton Bay. In a Media Release on Wednesday (18th February, 2026), the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said the victims, a 68-year-old woman and her 71-year-old husband, were at their residence when they were alerted by sounds of movement inside their home. Upon checking, they were confronted by three (3) men. One of the suspects, who was armed with a firearm, announced a robbery. During the incident, the 71-year-old victim was assaulted and received several blows about the body, causing injuries. The assailants proceeded to rob the victims of quantities of cash and jewellery before making good their escape in an unknown direction. A family has been left traumatized following a violent home invasion and robbery in Carapichaima early Wednesday morning (28th January, 2026) . According to reports, three (3) armed men stormed a home located along Roopsingh Road Extension, Carapichaima. The victims were asleep when they were suddenly awoken by loud noises, around 3:30 AM. The intruders, all brandishing firearms, announced a robbery, tied the victims in the bedroom, and struck one of them multiple times with a crowbar. The suspects then proceeded to ransack the house, stealing jewelry, TT currency, US $10,000, and three (3) cellphones before fleeing in the family’s black Toyota Yaris (PEF 8948). A family has been left traumatized following a harrowing home invasion and robbery by cutlass-wielding bandits at their residence in Penal on Tuesday night (13th January, 2026)  According to reports, a father locked and secured his home on Rochard Road and retired to bed, around 9:30 PM. However, he was subsequently awakened by his daughter’s screams, shortly before 11:00 PM. Upon investigating, he saw four (4) masked men armed with cutlasses inside the living room. The suspects demanded cash and jewellery and tied up the father, his daughter and four (4) other relatives. They then proceeded to ransack the house, stealing $15,000 in cash, cellphones and jewellery, before making their escape in the father’s white Nissan Wingroad.
