According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) men charged with three (3) counts of home invasion and possession of a weapon, following an incident in Princes Town during which a teenager was allegedly assaulted, have each been granted bail in the sum of $250,000. The TTPS said the accused, Dane Nesbit, also known as ‘Frank,’ 43, and Elisah Bynoe, also known as ‘Elijah Anderson’ and ‘Waynee,’ 22, appeared before Master Goswami at the Princes Town South-B AJIPA Court on Monday (2nd November, 2026). Neither accused was called upon to plead. They were each granted bail with surety in the sum of $250,000 and ordered to report to the Princes Town Police Station once per week, between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM. A person of interest in a recent home invasion was held after a Police-involved shooting incident in Wallerfield last night (Wednesday 14th October, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 9:00 PM, Officers assigned to the Northern Division CID responded to a report of several loud explosions heard at Antigua Road, Wallerfield. Upon arrival, the Officers exited their unmarked Police vehicle and walked approximately fifty (50) feet off the roadway into a dirt road surrounded by bushes. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), a 29-year-old Penal man, charged with one (1) count of home invasion, was granted bail in the sum of $75,000, when he appeared before the Siparia Masters Court on Monday (12th October, 2026). The TTPS said the accused, Peter Marshall of Penal Rock Road, Penal, was not called upon to plead to the charge. As part of his bail conditions, he is required to reside at his current address, remain at least fifty (50) feet away from the virtual complainant, and report to the Penal Police Station three (3) days per week. The body of a retired Police Officer was found with his hands and feet bound inside his home in Princes Town on Sunday morning (11th October, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 70-year-old Anthony Hanson of Marcano Street West, Princes Town. He is said to have retired early from the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) due to illness, where he was last assigned to the Southern Division. Investigators believe Hanson was killed during an apparent home invasion and robbery. According to reports, a relative arrived at Hanson’s residence, around 11:30 AM on Sunday, and observed a door on the Eastern side of the house was open. Upon entering, the relative discovered the home ransacked, with several items missing. After calling out to Hanson and receiving no response, the relative searched the house and found the retired Officer lying on his back on the bedroom floor, with his hands and feet bound together. A family of four (4) has been left traumatized following a violent home invasion and robbery in Kelly Village, Caroni, early Thursday morning (1st October, 2026). According to reports, one of the victims was in the garage of the home, located along La Solita Road, Kelly Village, Caroni, when he was approached by an assailant armed with a large wrench, around 4:20 AM. The victim was reportedly choked and dealt several blows about the body with the wrench before being taken inside the house. The other occupants were then removed from a bathroom and two (2) bedrooms. Their hands were bound using clothing while the suspects ransacked the house. The first victim was robbed of $3,000 in cash and other personal items. Another victim was robbed of $5,250 in cash and cellphone. A third victim was robbed of $3,000 in cash and an undisclosed quantity of jewelry, while the fourth victim was robbed of $145 in cash. Police in St. Augustine rescued an elderly woman from a home invasion on Wednesday night (23rd September, 2026) and arrested the suspect. According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), around 7:10 PM, St. Joseph Police received a report of an elderly woman being held against her will at her home. A party of Officers responded and entered the said premises, around 7:20 PM. Upon entry, they found the suspect, dressed in dark-coloured clothes, ransacking the victim’s bedroom. The 81-year-old victim was also in the house and was being held against her will. Police detained a 35-year-old Santa Cruz man at the scene, who remains in Police custody. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.

UPDATE: Four (4) masked men reportedly stormed the residence and ordered the occupants to the ground. One of the armed intruders then entered a bedroom where the 59-year-old Prison Officer was inside at the time. The Officer, who was armed with his licensed service pistol, confronted the intruder after hearing the commotion. The suspect pointed his firearm at the Officer, who, fearing for life, discharged three (3) rounds in his direction, causing the suspect to collapse to the floor. An elderly couple has been left traumatized following a brazen home invasion and robbery at their Gasparillo residence on Tuesday afternoon (1st September, 2026). According to reports, the 82-year-old man and 67-year-old woman were sitting in the porch of their home, located in Bonne Aventure, Gasparillo, when two (2) masked gunmen approached, announced a robbery and began beating them about their bodies, around 1:30 PM. The victims were then reportedly bound with tie-straps and forced onto the floor while the men searched the house for cash and valuables. The bandits subsequently fled along Morne Roche Road in the couple’s silver Nissan B14, valued at about $30,000, taking the man’s wallet, identification and bank cards, along with $1,700 in cash. They also took the woman’s handbag, $300 in cash, identification and bank cards, as well as a gold chain and earrings, valued at a combined $2,050. Quick action by Officers of the South Western Division (SWD) led to the successful arrest of five (5) home invasion suspects and the recovery of several stolen items on Saturday (8th August, 2026). A man is dead and his wife and daughter wounded following a violent home invasion in Arima late last night (Wednesday 1st July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 64-year-old Richard Maloney of Demerara Road, Arima. His teenage son was killed in a similar attack at the same home in 2022. According to reports, the family heard knocking at their back door and voices shouting, “Police, open up,” around 11:00 PM on Wednesday night. Believing the men were legitimate Police Officers, Maloney opened the door. However, two (2) masked gunmen immediately forced their way into the house and opened fire, hitting Maloney, his wife, Deidra, and their 15-year-old daughter, before fleeing. Maloney sustained multiple gunshot wounds and collapsed near the back door.  Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the residence. The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Tara Bridgemohan of Hassanali Trace, Barrackpore. She was tied up and suffocated to death during the terrifying ordeal. According to reports, intruders gained entry to the property by breaking in through the lower level of the house before making their way upstairs. They reportedly forced open a bedroom door, confronted the elderly woman, and tightly bound her hands and feet with tie-straps. She was also allegedly suffocated in an effort to muzzle her screams.  The bandits then ransacked the home in search of valuables and subsequently escaped with a quantity of jewellery and approximately US $1,000 in cash. Eleven (11) persons were arrested during an intelligence-led anti-crime operation conducted in the Gasparillo district during the period of 6th June, 2026 and 15th June, 2026.  According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the operation was conducted to “curb and detect the increase in home invasions, robberies, firearm-related offences, breakings and drug-related offences in the district. UPDATE: The suspect has been identified as 21-year-old Damani Lewis, who was believed to be involved in several violent offences, including home invasions, firearm-related crimes, shooting incidents, larcenies and sexual offences involving a minor. Officers received intelligence on Wednesday 10th June, 2026 that the suspect was hiding at an apartment in Cypress Ridge, Union Hall, San Fernando. Acting under the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026, Officers entered the premises shortly after 12:00 PM and began a systematic search of the apartment. During the exercise, Officers reportedly discovered the suspect hiding in the ceiling of the apartment.  The man attempted to evade capture but fell through the ceiling into another room.
