75-Year-Old Woman Suffocates To Death During Violent Barrackpore Home Invasion
An elderly woman is dead following a violent home invasion and robbery in Barrackpore on Saturday (27th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 75-year-old Tara Bridgemohan of Hassanali Trace, Barrackpore. She was tied up and suffocated to death during the terrifying ordeal.
According to reports, intruders gained entry to the property by breaking in through the lower level of the house before making their way upstairs. They reportedly forced open a bedroom door, confronted the elderly woman, and tightly bound her hands and feet with tie-straps. She was also allegedly suffocated in an effort to muzzle her screams.
The bandits then ransacked the home in search of valuables and subsequently escaped with a quantity of jewellery and approximately US $1,000 in cash.
Bridgemohan was later discovered unresponsive inside the house. Police were alerted and responded to the scene along with crime scene investigators.
Her murder has shocked residents of the quiet community.
Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal home invasion and robbery.
