TWO (2) Prison Officers And Inmate At Golden Grove Charged With Conspiracy Offences

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), two (2) Prison Officers attached to the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca, and an inmate on remand for murder, were expected to appear before a Master of the High Court on Thursday (17th September, 2026), charged with multiple offences, arising out of an attempt to smuggle illegal contraband into the prison in August 2026. The TTPS said on 24th August, 2026, a female Prison Officer (PO) was searched by Officers at the Golden Grove Prison, after she attempted to enter the premises with quantities of cannabis, cigarettes and other contraband items. She was later handed over to members of the DCP Operations Team, who commenced a 3-week long, intense investigation. Those investigations resulted in the arrest of a male Prison Officer (PO) on 28th August, 2026. A male inmate, currently on remand for murder, was also identified as a third suspect in the matter. T&T Coast Guard Intercepts Vessel With Over $204.5M Worth of Cocaine — FOUR (4) Men Held

The Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard (TTCG) said it intercepted a pirogue on Monday (14th September, 2026) in the Northern region of the Gulf of Paria. Four (4) men were on board the vessel, along with a quantity of packages, individually wrapped in plastic — suspected to be narcotics. The vessel was escorted to Coast Guard Headquarters, Staubles Bay, Chaguaramas, where further searches were conducted. The packages, persons, and the vessel were handed over to the relevant law enforcement authorities for further processing. In a Media Release today (Tuesday 15th September, 2026), the TTCG said, “The contents of the 394 sealed packages seized by the Trinidad and Tobago Coast Guard during a maritime operation in the Northern region of the Gulf of Paria have been confirmed as cocaine, following analysis by the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.” The seizure totalled 440.20 Kg, with an estimated street value of TT $204,534,528. 36-Year-Old Fyzabad Man Arrested With TWO (2) Firearms, Ammunition, Narcotics

Officers of the South Western Division have arrested a man and seized two (2) firearms, a quantity of ammunition and narcotics during an operation conducted between 7:00 PM and 11:00 PM on Friday night (4th September, 2026). According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the 36-year-old man of Delhi Road, Fyzabad, was arrested during a targeted, intelligence-led drug-block operation in the Penal and Fyzabad districts. During the exercise, Officers of the South Western Division Task Force and Penal Criminal Investigations Department (CID) searched several drug blocks and abandoned structures. The man was subsequently arrested along Guapo Main Road and charged with possession of firearms for the purpose of trafficking, namely a Taurus pistol and a silver revolver; possession of ammunition, to wit, three (3) rounds of .38 ammunition; and trafficking in cocaine, namely 14.5 grammes. Police Seize Over $193.5M In Cocaine Hidden Inside Backhoe Tyres In Longdenville; Businessman Among 3 Held

Officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) made a major blow to the illegal drug trade, when they seized approximately 416.5 kilogrammes of cocaine, with an estimated street value of TT $193,522,560, during an intelligence-led exercise in the Longdenville Police District. According to the TTPS, the operation was conducted from 3:40 AM on Wednesday (2nd September, 2026) to 3:30 AM on Thursday (3rd September, 2026), and was co-ordinated by Ag. ACP Criminal Division, Kerwin Francis, with operational leadership provided by Ag. ASP St. Clair. Police enquiries centred on the suspected concealment of illegal firearms and narcotics at premises located along Pokhor Road, Longdenville. Acting under the authority of Section 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations 2026, Officers proceeded to the identified premises and conducted a careful and systematic search of the residence, warehouse and surrounding compound for firearms, narcotics and other prohibited items.
