Disney+ Gets More Expensive As New Subscription Prices Take Effect
Disney+ has increased the price of several of its subscription plans in the United States, with the latest price changes already in effect from 23rd September, 2026. Interestingly, this is Disney+’s fourth price hike in four (4) years, following increases in October 2025, October 2024, October 2023 and December 2022.
According to Disney’s updated pricing information, the monthly price of the ad-supported Disney+ plan has increased from US $11.99 to US $12.49, while the premium, ad-free plan has risen from US $18.99 to US $21.49 per month. The premium plan therefore represents a US $2.50 monthly increase, or 13%.
The company has also increased the annual price of Disney+ Premium to US $214.99. Disney says subscribers who were already signed up before 23rd September, 2026 will begin seeing the new prices on billing cycles on or after 21st October, 2026.
Disney is also adjusting the prices of some of its bundles. The Disney+ and Hulu bundle with ads remains at US $12.99 per month, while the ad-free Disney+ and Hulu bundle has increased to US $21.99 per month. Disney has also introduced or adjusted several bundles involving ESPN as it continues integrating its streaming services.
The latest increase comes as Disney continues expanding the amount of sports and other programming available through Disney+. The service now promotes access to ESPN programming alongside its traditional Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and National Geographic content.
For subscribers in Trinidad and Tobago and other markets outside the United States, however, the U.S. price increase should not automatically be interpreted as a corresponding local price increase. Disney operates region-specific pricing, and its Trinidad and Tobago website lists Disney+ as an available service without publishing the U.S. subscription rates. Third-party providers can also set their own prices.
The September increase is another example of the continuing rise in the cost of major streaming services, as companies increasingly look to subscription prices and bundled offerings to generate revenue while competing for viewers.
Last year, Disney announced that it would combine Disney+ and Hulu to create a “unified app experience.” Hulu subscribers can now link their profiles and watch-history on Disney+. This was announced by CEO Josh D'Amaro during the company’s earnings call in August.
More on this as it becomes available.
