Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should stay hydrated, use sunscreen, wear lightweight clothing and seek shade where possible, as hot and sunny conditions are expected with temperatures reaching up to 33°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago. Those planning outdoor activities, particularly in Western and hilly areas of Trinidad, should keep an eye on changing weather conditions during the early to mid-afternoon and have rain protection available, as heavy showers or thunderstorms could develop. If thunderstorms occur, avoid exposed areas and seek shelter, as gusty winds, street flooding and flash flooding are possible. Motorists should exercise caution on roads affected by sudden downpours and avoid driving through floodwaters. Beachgoers and boaters should also exercise caution, as seas are expected to be slight to moderate, with waves of 1m to 1.5m in open waters and below 1m in sheltered areas.
