Over $1M In Cannabis, 100 Rounds of Ammunition Seized In Tobago — 3 Suspects Arrested
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), three (3) persons were arrested after Officers seized 33.2 kilogrammes of marijuana and 100 rounds of 9mm ammunition during “Operation RESOLUTE Shield” in Tobago.
The exercise was conducted in the Crown Point Police Station District between 3:00 AM and 6:00 AM this morning (Saturday 29th August, 2026).
Acting on information received, Officers exercised their powers under the State of Emergency and searched a residence at Young Street, Canaan. During the search, they discovered a quantity of cannabis, with an estimated street value of $1,105,800, along with the ammunition.
The suspects arrested were a 29-year-old, a 36-year-old and a 27-year-old, all of Young Street, Canaan.
The operation was conducted under the direction of ACP Singh, co-ordinated by Snr. Supt. Kirk, spearheaded by ASP Bacchus and Insp. Alleyne, supervised by W/Ag. Sgt. Ewing and Cpl. Lewis, and involved Officers of the Crown Point Police Station, Tobago Divisional Task Force, Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and Canine Unit.
Investigations are continuing.
