There is a low (25%) chance of isolated, afternoon thunderstorm activity. Tonight will be fair to partly cloudy, with a few showers. There is a low to medium (30% - 40%) chance of isolated heavy showers/thunderstorm activity, likely to favour late-night into early Monday morning.
In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding may occur in areas so prone.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are moderate with waves 1.5m to 2m in open waters and up to 1m in sheltered areas.
Recommendations for outdoor activities today:
Persons heading outdoors today should stay hydrated, use sunscreen, wear lightweight clothing and consider carrying an umbrella or light rain jacket, as hot, sunny and breezy conditions are expected to be interrupted by occasional showers. With temperatures reaching 33°C in Trinidad and 32°C in Tobago, take regular breaks from direct sunlight, particularly during the hottest part of the day. Although the chance of an afternoon thunderstorm is low, outdoor activities should be monitored for sudden changes in weather, as thunderstorms could produce gusty winds and localized street or flash flooding. Those planning outdoor activities or travel tonight should exercise additional caution, as the chance of heavier showers or thunderstorms increases to 30% - 40% late tonight into early Monday morning.
