PTSC Responds To Bus Fire Incident Along Priority Bus Route — Launches Investigation

The Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) is confirming that one of its buses caught fire at approximately 1:15 PM this afternoon (Wednesday 13th May, 2026) along the Priority Bus Route (PBR), in the vicinity of the Mount Lambert traffic lights.

The Corporation notes that at the time of the incident, the bus was not in service and there were no passengers onboard.

Emergency response personnel from both the Trinidad and Tobago Fire Service (TTFS) and the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) were contacted and responded to the scene. The fire was successfully brought under control.



The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the PTSC, who said it will “continue to work closely with the relevant authorities to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.”

PTSC added that it “remains committed to the safety of its employees, passengers and the general public.”
