At Least 5 Killed As Amazon Prime Cargo Plane Overruns Runway At Miami International Airport

According to reports, at least five (5) people are dead and five (5) others injured after an Amazon Prime cargo plane overran the runway at Miami International Airport this afternoon (Sunday 6th September, 2026), crashing into multiple vehicles before catching fire. A full ground stop has been issued for the Airport.

The terrifying incident is said to have occurred while the plane was attempting to land at the Airport, around 2:00 PM local time, according to Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and Airport Officials.

Authorities have not yet released further details on the fatalities or the injuries.

Fire Officials said the airplane caught fire following the crash, with more than sixty (60) fire units responding to the scene, involving multiple patients. In a post on X, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said, “Units arrived to find an airplane that had caught on fire as a result of this crash, with heavy flames and smoke showing. Firefighters are working on extinguishing the fire and assessing patients.”

In a statement to Fox News Digital, an Amazon Spokesperson confirmed that the plane experienced an “incident” while attempting to land, but did not elaborate on the circumstances. “We can confirm that an Amazon Air plane operated by 21 Air experienced an incident while attempting to land at Miami International Airport today,” Amazon said. “This is a fast-moving situation and we’re still gathering details. We’re working closely with local authorities and officials to understand exactly what happened. Right now, our absolute priority is the safety, well-being, and care of everyone involved. We’re doing everything we can to support those affected.”

According to the FAA, 21 Air Flight 7598, a Boeing 767-300, departed from Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico. 

County CAD records indicate the emergency call was received at about 1:55 PM.

Meanwhile, Miami-Dade County Mayor, Daniella Levine Cava, said the city is closely monitoring the situation. “Right now, our focus is on everyone involved and making sure our first responders have what they need. We will provide updates as we learn more,” the Mayor said in a post on X.

Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, said first responders were assessing the scene. “We’ve issued a full ground stop at Miami International while first responders assess the scene after an Amazon cargo plane overran the runway. If you’re traveling through the area, please expect significant delays and potential cancellations,” he said in a post on X. 

Airport Officials later said one runway re-opened, but they are “still experiencing impacts from this incident.”

Passengers with flights scheduled for Sunday were advised to check directly with their airline first for flight status updates, before heading to the Airport.

Investigations are continuing by the FAA into the circumstances surrounding the deadly crash.

22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. BODY of Woman Found Inside Abandoned Security Booth In San Fernando — Police Investigating

The decomposing body of a woman was found inside an abandoned security booth on the compound of an old panyard in San Fernando on Wednesday morning (16th September, 2026).
