Another Double Fatal Crash: 2 Men Killed Along Claude Noel Highway In Tobago

Two (2) men are dead following a horrific road traffic accident in Bacolet, Tobago, on Sunday morning (26th April, 2026). The deceased have been identified as Keyon “Sprang” Nimblett and Shakka Rivers, both from Signal Hill, Tobago. They were employees of REM Elite construction company. Aside from being co-workers, the men were said to be “like brothers” and never ventured anywhere without each other.

According to reports, the pair were heading to a job site in Pembroke, driven by Nimblett in his blue Mitsubishi Lancer, proceeding East along the Claude Noel Highway, when he swerved to avoid a collision with another vehicle, around 10:15 AM. The Lancer struck a utility pole, went airborne and then crashed into an immortelle tree, killing both men instantly.

Police, Fire and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene, where both men were pronounced dead.

Distraught relatives and friends gathered at the site and consoled each other.


REM Elite owner, Rondell Morris, said the accident had left him shaken, as he spoke to both men prior to the accident. “I came off the phone like half hour before, making sure they got the materials to go up on the job site,” he said.

Morris said he knew both men for over a decade but they only started working for him approximately four (4) years ago.

Friends of the duo said both were skilled mechanics, hard workers and never in any trouble.

This was the second devastating accident resulting in multiple deaths in two (2) days.

On Saturday (25th April, 2026), local music artiste, Marques “Rasta Markie” Figaro, 38, and former national Under-17 footballer, Tyrek James, 27, both of Marabella, died within minutes of a crash along the Southern Main Road in St. Margaret’s.

Police Officers and road traffic safety stakeholders are urging drivers to take their time on the nation’s roadways.

Investigations are continuing into both fatal crashes.

Burnt Body Found Inside Vehicle In Wallerfield Near Prior Murders — Police Investigating

The charred remains of a man was found in Wallerfield on Sunday (7th June, 2026). The deceased is believed to be Clint Gomez, also known by the alias “Milky,” as official confirmation is pending. According to reports, the body was found inside a vehicle near Block 5 on Moonan Road. A District Medical Officer (DMO) later ordered the removal of the remains to the Forensic Science Centre in St. James, where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the exact cause of death. The body of a woman was found inside her home in El Socorro on Friday evening (5th June, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 26-year-old Aquilah Rebekah Henry of Oudan Road, El Socorro. She was an employee of the Ministry of National Security, attached to the Police Administration Building as a Clerk II. According to reports, Police and Emergency Health Services responded to a call for assistance at Henry’s residence, shortly after 6:30 PM. Palo Seco Man In Custody Following Discovery of Missing 12-Year-Old Girl In Erin

A 26-year-old man is currently in Police custody as investigators continue enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the death of 12-year-old Mercedez Layne of Los Iros, Erin , whose body was discovered earlier today (Sunday 7th June, 2026), hours after she was reported missing. In a Media Release this evening, the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said Mercedez was reported missing at approximately 4:00 PM on Saturday (6th June, 2026) by her grandfather, of Lorensotte North Trace, Rancho Quemado. According to the report, around 11:30 AM on the same date, the grandfather placed his granddaughter, who had spent the previous night at his residence, into a vehicle, intended to transport the child to her home at Los Iros Beach Road, Erin.
