Ministry Warns of Fake Text Messages Regarding Speeding Violations

The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation is advising the public that text messages currently circulating regarding speeding violations, claiming to have legal effect and requesting that persons make payment within seven (7) days to receive a 50% discount, are fake and did not originate from the Ministry.

In a Media Release today (Wednesday 20th May, 2026), the Ministry said it further emphasizes that “these messages are not issued by, affiliated with, or part of the Licensing Authority of the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation. Members of the public are strongly urged to disregard these messages, avoid clicking on any links, and sharing personal or financial information.

The public is reminded to rely only on the Ministry's official communication channels for accurate information regarding speeding violations, Fixed Penalty Notices, and related services.

The Ministry thanks the public for its continued vigilance and co-operation.
