42-Year-Old Man Killed When Panel Van Crashes Into Truck Along Caparo Valley Brasso Road

A man is dead following a road traffic accident along the Caparo Valley Brasso Road this morning (Saturday 4th July, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 42-year-old Jason Ramnanan of Caparo.

According to reports, Ramnanan was driving a white panel van when it collided with a green and yellow waste disposal truck (TCJ 1195) near the Santa Phillipa Bridge along the Caparo Valley Brasso Road, around 9:00 AM. Both vehicles sustained significant damage. 

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. However, Ramnanan succumbed to his injuries.

His sister, Amanda Ramnanan, described him as a devoted family member whose death has devastated relatives. “Jason was the most loved individual and the most caring boy if you ever met him, and he had his whole life ahead of him still.”

She said Ramnanan, who had celebrated his birthday earlier this year, on 15th January, was returning home this morning after visiting his grandparents, who live in the area, when the tragic crash occurred.

Residents who gathered at the scene claimed ongoing roadworks may have contributed to the crash. They said the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) had excavated a section of the roadway about a week ago, leaving what they described as a large hole near the bridge.

One resident said barricades placed around the excavation reduce visibility for motorists approaching the bridge. “There is a barricade around the hole on the pavement so usually when you come around the corner, you cannot see where the pavement break. There is a big hole and WASA should have covered that hole,” the resident stated.

The resident added that the waste disposal truck had already crossed the bridge and had the right of way when the collision occurred.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the fatal crash.

22-Year-Old Man Shot Dead In Morvant — Face Disfigured In Hail of Bullets

A man is dead following a brutal shooting incident in Morvant early this morning (Tuesday 8th September, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 22-year-old Tylan Hinkson, aka “Papa,”of Redwood Street, Morvant. His face was said to have been disfigured in a hail of bullets from a high-powered weapon. According to reports, Hinkson was ambushed and shot near Second Caledonia Road, in the vicinity of Juman, during the early morning hours. Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers found Hinkson lying on the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds about the body, including severe injuries to his face, hands and legs. A District Medical Officer (DMO) was summoned, who pronounced Hinkson dead at the scene. Police have not yet established a motive for this murder. A man is dead and another listed in serious condition at Hospital following a horrific road traffic accident in Cocorite on Wednesday night (9th September, 2026). BODY of Woman Found Inside Abandoned Security Booth In San Fernando — Police Investigating

The decomposing body of a woman was found inside an abandoned security booth on the compound of an old panyard in San Fernando on Wednesday morning (16th September, 2026).
