Over TT $1.8 Million In CASH Seized From Maraval Home; Woman Arrested

A woman was arrested by Officers of the Western Division after over TT $1.8 million in cash was found at her Maraval home on Wednesday morning (15th October, 2025).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), an exercise was conducted between 4:00 AM and 8:00 AM, in the Maraval district, by Officers of the West End/Maraval Criminal Investigations Department (CID), with the assistance of the West End Police Station, the Western Division Task Force, the WD Gang and Intelligence Unit, the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF), and the Canine Unit. 

During the exercise, the Officers proceeded to the home of a male suspect, where they conducted a search. 

The search resulted in the discovery of a safe, within which TT $1,853,600 and $837 Barbadian currency were found. Four (4) Police patches and a pair of black tactical pants were also seized.

The suspect’s mother, who was in the house at the time of the exercise, was taken into custody. 

Personnel of the Financial Investigations Bureau (FIB) were contacted and the cash seized in accordance with the Proceeds of Crime Act.

Investigations are continuing.
