TWO (2) Men Held With Over US $17K In Cash In Port-of-Spain Division

Two (2) men were arrested and a quantity of U.S. currency seized by Officers of the Emergency Response Patrol (ERP), during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the Port-of-Spain Division, earlier today (Tuesday 4th February, 2025).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the exercise was conducted by Officers of the ERP’s Special Response Unit, around 11:20 AM, during which they stopped a white Nissan Tiida with two (2) male occupants, in the vicinity of the Abattoir, Port-of-Spain.

A search of the vehicle resulted in Officers finding US $17,534 in cash in the possession of one of the men.

The men, ages thirty-one (31) of Prizgar Lands and thirty-nine (39) of Grenada, were arrested and Officers of the Financial Investigations Bureau (FIB) contacted to conduct enquiries into the source and intended use of the cash.

Investigations are ongoing.
