TWO (2) Men Charged For Robbery With Violence In Sangre Grande

Two (2) men from Sangre Grande appeared before Master Rehanna Hosein at the North High Court today (Monday 5th January, 2026), where both pleaded guilty to the charge of robbery with violence, stemming from an incident which occurred along the Guaico Tamana Road, Sangre Grande.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), at approximately 5:30 PM on Friday (2nd January, 2026), a 33-year-old man was liming with a friend at a bar at Guaico Tamana Road, Cunaripo, when he was approached by two (2) men known to him. One of the suspects was reportedly armed with a piece of construction brick. The victim was subsequently attacked and robbed of his white-and-silver iPhone 14, valued at $3,000, along with TT $400 in cash.

Officers from the Sangre Grande Criminal Investigations Department (CID) immediately launched an investigation. As a result, both suspects were arrested and charged for the offence. 

In the matter, Anthony Hunte, 21, was denied bail, while Lorenzo Ramnath, 27, was granted bail in the sum of $100,000, with conditions.

The matter was transferred to the Sangre Grande District Court for sentencing and has been adjourned to Monday 2nd February, 2026, at 9:00 AM.
