DOUBLE Murder In San Juan — 2 Men Shot Dead In Remote, Rugged Hillside Terrain

Two (2) men are dead following a shooting incident in a remote area of Laventille Road, San Juan, last night (Friday 2nd January, 2026). The deceased have been identified as Zimba Charles and 37-year-old Akil Miguel Edwards. This marks the first recorded double murder of 2026.

According to reports, both men sustained multiple gunshot wounds in an attack in a remote and difficult-to-access area along Zion Road, Thunder Hill Circular, Sou Sou Lands, Laventille Road, San Juan, shortly before 6:00 PM. Edwards was found outside, while Charles was discovered inside a small clay brick shack, tucked away in the rugged hillside terrain.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene. Upon arrival, Officers of the North Eastern Division Task Force discovered both victims shot to death. They were later accompanied by Officers of the San Juan Police Station and the Homicide Bureau of Investigations (HBI) Region II.

Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigations are continuing into the brutal double murder.
