19-Year-Old Woman Dies In Horrific Crash In Port-of-Spain — Several Others Injured
A woman is dead and several others injured following a horrific road traffic accident at the intersection of Henry Street and Park Street, Port-of-Spain, early this morning (Wednesday 3rd September, 2025). The deceased has been identified as 19-year-old Lysanne Julien.
According to reports, a black Honda Vezel (PEH 7749), driven by 25-year-old Che Ferraz of San Fernando, was proceeding East along Park Street, around 3:45 AM, when the vehicle was allegedly struck on its right side by a red, white and black Higer bus (HED 3495). The impact of the collision caused the Vezel to slam into a traffic light and utility pole, and flip onto its side before landing on the pavement.
Police, Fire and Emergency Health Services were notified.
There were several passengers in the Honda Vezel — Maria Beckles, Abron Ramroop, Jibreel Dennis, and Lysanne Julien — all of whom had to be removed from the wreckage by Officers of the Fire Service. They were conveyed, along with the driver, Ferraz, to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital (POSGH) by Emergency Health Services.
However, Julien succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead, around 5:00 AM this morning. Ramroop and Dennis are said to be in critical condition, while Ferraz and Beckles suffered only minor injuries.
The Honda Vezel was taken to the Central Police Station, while the bus was impounded at the PTSC compound for inspection.
