25-Year-Old Penal Man Faces SEVENTEEN (17) Charges In Court
A Penal man has been charged with seventeen (17) offences arising out of a robbery incident that occurred last month.
The 25-year-old man was arrested on Sunday (31st August, 2025), following investigations into a report of a robbery which took place on 28th July, 2025, in the Barrackpore District.
According to Police reports, the victims — two (2) brothers and their families — were at their separate homes on the same compound in Barrackpore, when six (6) assailants, five (5) of whom were armed, launched an attack. During the ordeal, the victims reported that they were beaten with firearms, their homes ransacked, family members assaulted, and three (3) cellphones stolen. The suspects then fled the scene in one of the victim’s black Nissan Pulsar.
Following investigations by Ag. Cpl. Lee Lum, and on the recommendation of Inspector Sookdeo, ASP Morales gave instructions to charge the suspect with the following offences:
- Three (3) counts of burglary.
- Three (3) counts of robbery with violence.
- Two (2) counts of larceny motor vehicle.
- One (1) count of larceny.
- Five (5) counts of false imprisonment.
- One (1) count of interfering with a motor vehicle.
- One (1) count of malicious damage to a motor vehicle.
- One (1) count of kidnapping.
He was scheduled to appear before a High Court Master in San Fernando on Tuesday (3rd September, 2025).
