WASA: Temporary Cutback At Caroni Water Treatment Plant For Emergency Repairs
The Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) is advising customers in parts of North, Central and South Trinidad, served by the Caroni Water Treatment Plant, who are presently experiencing reduced water pressures or in some cases no water, that this is due to a temporary cutback in production at the Plant.
In a Media Release today (Thursday 2nd October, 2025), WASA said production has been reduced from the daily average of 75 million gallons per day (mgd) to 65 mgd, to allow for emergency repairs to be carried out at the Raw Water Station of the facility.
WASA notes that this represents a loss of 10 mgd into the distribution system.
The repair works are expected to be completed by 8:00 PM tonight (Thursday 2nd October, 2025).
Customers are advised that following the return to normal operations, it may take up to twenty-four (24) hours for the supply to be fully restored in some affected areas.
A limited truck-borne water service is available with priority being given to health facilities, schools and homes-for-the-aged.
This service can be requested via the Authority's website: www.wasa.gov.tt or alternatively, by calling toll free at 800-4420 to 800-4426.
The Authority said it thanks customers for their patience and understanding.
Please be guided accordingly.
