DOUBLE Murder Rocks Santa Cruz — 2 Men Shot Dead; Police Investigating
Two (2) men are dead following a shooting incident in Santa Cruz last night (Saturday 1st November, 2025). The deceased have been identified as 31-year-old Angelo Leandre, a labourer of Sun Valley Extension, and Jeremiah Britto of La Canoa Road, Santa Cruz.
According to reports, Leandre was washing a gold Nissan Almera at Sun Valley Extension, La Canoa Road, around 8:20 PM, when several armed men approached and opened fire, striking him and Britto, who was standing nearby. Leandre attempted to flee East along the roadway but was pursued and fatally shot. The assailants then escaped on foot.
Officers on mobile patrol in the San Juan district received a report from the Command Centre, around 8:25 PM, of several loud explosions heard in the area. Upon arrival, Officers found Leandre lying motionless on the roadway, with multiple gunshot wounds. He was clad in a blue ¾ pants, black belt and was barefoot.
Further reports state that Britto, who was also wounded, was conveyed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex (EWMSC) in Mount Hope in the gold Nissan Almera, driven by an unknown female. However, he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, at 8:50 PM.
A District Medical Officer (DMO) also visited the scene, made certain pronouncements, and ordered the removal of Leandre’s body for a post-mortem examination at the Forensic Science Centre.
The bodies were removed by undertakers from Ideal Funeral Home.
Crime scene investigators recovered eighteen (18) 9mm Luger CBC spent shell cases and two (2) projectiles.
Investigations are continuing into the double murder.
