P.M. Kamla Persad-Bissessar Bans ALL Fetes At Hasely Crawford Stadium, Jean Pierre Complex

Prime Minister the Honourable Kamla Persad-Bissessar, SC, MP, said she instructed the Attorney General and the Minister of Sport on Monday (17th November, 2025) to implement an immediate ban on the hosting of all fetes at the Hasely Crawford Stadium and the Jean Pierre Complex. The Prime Minister made the announcement on her social media pages this morning (Tuesday 18th November, 2025), coming just days after announcing a similar ban on fetes at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy.

According to Mrs. Persad-Bissessar, “Exceptions will be granted only for events taking place from the Thursday before Carnival Monday and Tuesday until the Saturday after.” Additionally, she said all fetes and parties booked at Ministry of Sport facilities may begin no earlier than 12:00 PM and must end promptly at 10:00 PM.

The National Carnival Commission (NCC) has also been directed to engage experienced acoustic engineers to properly design sound systems at their venues, ensuring that noise and vibrations from these events are effectively minimized for neighbouring communities.

The Prime Minister added, “As we move forward, my Government remains committed to balancing culture and community well-being, protecting our traditions while safeguarding the peace of our citizens. Together, we will build a more respectful, responsible, and harmonious Trinidad and Tobago.”

More on this as it becomes available.
