Adverse Weather Alert In Effect: 40% Chance For Thunderstorm Activity Today; 30°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), we can expect partly cloudy to cloudy and breezy conditions today (Wednesday 3rd December, 2025), with scattered light to moderate, and at times, heavy showers/rain over most areas. There is a medium (40%) chance that isolated thunderstorms could occur. These conditions would persist into nightfall.

An Adverse Weather Alert (Yellow Level) is in effect until Thursday afternoon (4th December, 2025). The Met Office notes that unsettled conditions are ongoing, with periods of rainfall activity of varying intensities expected to persist throughout the day, along with the potential for isolated heavy showers or thunderstorm activity. Some areas across both islands have already experienced showers accompanied by gusty winds. Settled periods are likely overnight, interspersed with light rain or brisk showers. However, an increase in rainfall activity is expected again tomorrow (Thursday 4th December, 2025).

Heavy downpours or prolonged rainfall can lead to street flooding as well as localized ponding and may trigger landslides/landslips along vulnerable areas.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 30°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 29°C at Crown Point in Tobago.

Seas are moderate with waves up to 2m but occasionally up to 2.5m in open waters and up to 1m in sheltered areas.

Please continue to pay attention to the latest forecasts, alerts, and information issued by the TTMS.
