29-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed In Head-On Crash With Car In Tobago

A motorcyclist is dead following a road traffic accident in Canaan, Tobago, early this morning (Monday 16th February, 2026). The deceased has been identified as 29-year-old Shakeel Anthony Shade of Mason Hall, Les Coteaux Road. He was said to be a local footballer.

According to reports, Shade was riding a motorcycle along with several other motorcyclists when he struck a car head-on near Smart City Supermarket, around 12:36 AM. He died upon impact.

CCTV footage captured the fatal motorcycle crash.

Police and Emergency Health Services were notified and responded to the scene.

Investigations are continuing into the circumstances surrounding the crash as family members and the local sporting fraternity mourn their tragic loss.
