Commencement of Highway Median Works From Monday — Chase Village To Claxton Bay

The Ministry of Works and Transport is advising the public of the commencement of critical Highway median works along the Sir Solomon Hochoy Highway, from the 19.2 Km mark (Chase Village) to the 32.5 Km mark (Claxton Bay). These works are expected to commence from Monday 10th February, 2025 and be completed by Thursday 20th February, 2025.

Hours of Work: 9:00 PM to 4:00 AM

The Ministry notes that during this phase of the project, there will be a disruption to the regular flow of traffic on the right lane of the Highway.

These works were previously scheduled to commence on 13th January, 2025.

In light of the above, motorists are advised to comply with the following:

  • Proceed with caution and observe all directional signs and barriers.
  • Comply with instructions from Police Officers or flag persons on-site, to facilitate a safe and orderly flow of traffic.
  • Be aware of equipment in the work zone and entering/exiting the site.
  • Motorists should drive at a reduced speed and proceed with caution, on approaching the work zone.

The Ministry said it regrets any inconvenience caused and thanks the public for its continued co-operation. For further information, please call the Ministry’s Office - Highways Division, at 625-1225.
