Erla Harewood-Christopher To Take Police Service Commission To Court Over Her Suspension

Commissioner of Police, Erla Harewood-Christopher, via her Attorney, Senior Counsel Pamela Elder, sent a pre-action protocol letter to the Police Service Commission (PolSC) on Monday (3rd February, 2025), to have her suspension rescinded. The letter gave a deadline of no later than 2:00 PM today (Tuesday 4th February, 2025) for the Commission to comply with the request. However, that deadline has now passed and the Commission is potentially facing Judicial Review proceedings.

Speaking to TTT News shortly after the 2:00 PM deadline today, Ms. Elder said the Commission has only acknowledged receipt of the pre-action letter and as such, they will “continue with what they have to do.”

The Commissioner of Police was arrested and questioned by Police last Thursday (30th January, 2025) in connection with the illegal procurement of two (2) high-powered sniper rifles. She was subsequently released from Police custody on Saturday (1st February, 2025).

Investigations are continuing.

More on this as it becomes available.
