Here’s The 5-Day Weather Outlook For T&T — From Tuesday Through Saturday

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), a well-formed, high pressure cell situated to the East of the subtropical North Atlantic is likely to continue to strengthen, and provide the energy over a long and generally straight fetch across the Tropical Atlantic, to generate steady, moderate to strong, near-surface to mid-level winds. Increasing wind strength and sea levels can be expected over this outlook period and beyond.

Presently, until Tuesday (4th February, 2025), the seas in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be moderate to rough. Mostly moderate conditions are expected after Tuesday for the remainder of this outlook period.

Extended analysis is indicating that by next week Tuesday (11th February, 2025), the sea conditions to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to become rough.

Persons are advised to continue to monitor the sea conditions and always take precautions in marine activities.

The near-surface to mid-level winds are expected to continue to be mostly moderate during this outlook period. This is likely to produce generally breezy, sometimes windy conditions, and at times could become gusty, especially in elevated areas or in the vicinity of any shower which might occur. Analysis is showing that by Thursday (6th February, 2025), the wind speed is expected to show a gradual increase.

Extended analysis is indicating that by next week Monday evening (10th February, 2025), the wind speed in the near-surface to mid-levels is likely to further increase to become noticeably strong.

The Met Office notes that there is generally moderate concentrations of Saharan dust in the atmosphere today (Monday 3rd February, 2025), until Thursday (6th February, 2025), when there is likely to be a slight increase, favouring moderate for the remainder of this outlook period.

For this outlook period, generally fair and breezy conditions are expected with partly cloudy interruptions at times, producing brief showers over varying areas, across the Lesser Antilles. There will be the chance for the development of an isolated, moderate to heavy shower, especially near hilly areas.

Tuesday (4th February, 2025) 
  • For Trinidad and Tobago and the Lesser Antilles, mostly fair, sunny, and breezy conditions are expected with patches of moisture advection likely to produce a few brief, light or moderate showers. There is the chance for a heavy shower to develop, especially near hilly areas or during the afternoon.

Wednesday (5th February, 2025) 
  • For Trinidad and Tobago and the Lesser Antilles, mostly fair, sunny, and breezy conditions are expected with patches of moisture advection likely to produce a few brief, light or moderate showers. There is the chance for a heavy shower to develop, especially near hilly areas or during the afternoon.

Thursday (6th February, 2025) 
  • For Trinidad and Tobago, generally sunny and breezy to windy conditions are expected. During the late morning to early afternoon, there is the chance for a brisk moderate or heavy shower, favouring Eastern Trinidad and hilly areas. An increase in moisture advection across the Leeward Islands is likely to produce a few light to moderate showers, with a chance for a heavy shower to develop in some areas.

Friday (7th February, 2025) 
  • Patches of moisture advection over Tobago and North Trinidad during the early morning to early afternoon, is likely to produce a few light to moderate showers, with a chance for an isolated heavy shower to develop near hilly areas. Otherwise, fair and breezy to windy conditions are expected. Patches of moisture advection in varying areas over the remainder of the Lesser Antilles is likely to produce a few light to moderate showers, with a chance for a heavy shower to develop in some areas.

Saturday (8th February, 2025) 
  • For Trinidad and Tobago, generally sunny and breezy to windy conditions are expected. During the late morning to early afternoon, there is the chance for a brisk moderate or heavy shower, favouring Tobago and areas in the East or Southwest of Trinidad.

The TTMS said it continues to analyze and monitor all developments within the Area of Interest.
