Here’s The 5-Day Weather Outlook For T&T — From Tuesday Through Saturday
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the track of passing frontal systems are becoming generally more Northerly at this time. This, together with well-formed and integrated high pressure cells zonally-oriented (aligned generally from East to West) across the mid-latitude North Atlantic, is expected to continue to provide the configuration of a long and generally straight fetch across the Tropical North Atlantic. The energy out of the high pressure cells will continue to generate steady, moderate to strong, near-surface to mid-level winds, and rough seas, across the Tropical North Atlantic, during this outlook period and beyond.
Persons are advised to look out for increasing wind strength and rough sea conditions. The seas in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are presently moderate to rough. By late today (Monday 10th February, 2025), the seas are expected to be rough in those areas, with a continuing increase, reaching a peak of above 3m between late Wednesday (12th February, 2025) to Monday (17th February, 2025).
Extended analysis is indicating that after Monday (17th February, 2025), there is likely to be a gradual reduction in the rough sea conditions, but will remain moderate to rough until Saturday (22nd February, 2025), when conditions are likely to become mostly moderate.
Persons are advised to continue to monitor the sea conditions and always take precautions in marine activities.
The near-surface to the mid-level winds are expected to be moderate to strong over this outlook period and beyond. Analysis is showing an increase in strength between Tuesday (11th February, 2025) and Friday (14th February, 2025).
Generally breezy, sometimes windy conditions can be expected, and at times could become gusty, especially in elevated areas or in the vicinity of any shower which might occur.
Extended analysis is indicating that a relative reduction in strength is likely by Sunday (16th February, 2025), but still remaining generally moderate to strong at times, until around Saturday (22nd February, 2025) into Sunday (23rd February, 2025), when the wind strength is likely to be reduced to below moderate levels.
The Met Office notes that there is presently a generally mild Saharan dust concentration in the atmosphere, with brief fluctuations to moderate at times. There is expected to be a gradual increase in concentration to mostly moderate by Tuesday evening (11th February, 2025) and by Wednesday (12th February, 2025), there could be brief fluctuations to high concentrations at times.
Persons who are likely to be affected are advised to take the necessary precautions.
For this outlook period, generally breezy and at times windy conditions can be expected, with partly cloudy interruptions producing brief showers over varying areas. There will be the chance for the development of an isolated, moderate to heavy shower, especially near hilly areas and during the afternoons, late nights or early mornings. Rough sea conditions are to be expected.
