Here’s The 5-Day Weather Outlook For T&T — From Saturday Through Wednesday

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), within the last week, the passage of the frontal systems have been across more Northerly latitudes than in January. This, together with usually well-formed high pressure cells, has continued to provide the configuration of a long and generally straight fetch across the Tropical Atlantic. The energy out of the high pressure cells continue to generate steady, moderate to strong, near-surface to mid-level winds and rough seas across the equatorial Atlantic.

The Met Office is advising persons to look out for increasing wind strength and rough sea conditions over this outlook period and beyond.

Presently, the seas in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to continue to be mostly moderate, but by late Monday (10th February, 2025), it is expected to increase to become rough.

Extended analysis is indicating that the rough sea conditions in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are likely to continue well beyond this outlook period.

Persons are advised to continue to monitor the sea conditions and always take precautions in marine activities.

The near-surface to mid-level winds are expected to be mostly moderate over the next few days, but by late Monday (10th February, 2025), it is expected to increase to become strong at times. Generally breezy, sometimes windy conditions are expected, and at times it could become gusty, especially in elevated areas or in the vicinity of any shower that might occur.

Extended analysis is indicating that the strong winds in the near-surface to the mid-levels are likely to continue well beyond this outlook period.

The Met Office notes that presently, there is a mild Saharan dust concentration in the atmosphere. There is expected to be a gradual increase in concentration to mostly moderate. By Tuesday (11th February, 2025), and Wednesday, there could be fluctuations to high concentrations at times. Persons who are likely to be affected are advised to take the necessary precautions.

For this outlook period, generally breezy and, at times, windy conditions, are expected with partly cloudy interruptions producing brief showers over varying areas. There will be the chance for the development of an isolated, moderate to heavy shower, especially near hilly areas and during the afternoons.
