Here’s The 5-Day Weather Outlook For T&T — From Tuesday Through Saturday
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the Bermuda-Azores high pressure cell over the sub-tropical Atlantic, although relatively weaker, is still expected to provide a mostly straight fetch across the Tropical North Atlantic, with the weather pattern being fair and sunny with brief showers mainly over the Southern Leeward and Windward Islands. The exception to this pattern is that a passing mid latitude cyclone from the North-Northwest towards the Northeast is expected to develop a shear-line across the Northern Leeward Islands from Thursday (13th March, 2025) to Saturday (15th March, 2025) and also extend an influence of increased surface convergence, low to mid-level trough development, and moisture build-up over Trinidad and Tobago during Thursday (13th March, 2025) and Friday (14th March, 2025).
The seas in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be mostly between 1.5m to 2m for this outlook period.
The near-surface to the mid-level wind is expected to remain normal for most of this outlook period and at times can become breezy. In the event of any heavy shower or thunderstorm development, there is likely to be an increase in windy to gusty conditions in the vicinity.
The Met Office notes that the atmospheric concentration of Saharan dust during this outlook period is expected to be mostly mild, but with brief fluctuations to mild to moderate at times.
For this outlook period, and mainly over the Southern Leeward and Windward Islands, we can expect generally fair, and at times breezy conditions, with brief showers in some areas. Between Thursday (13th March, 2025) and Saturday (15th March, 2025), across the Northern Leeward Islands, there is expected to be partly cloudy to cloudy conditions with light to moderate showers over varying areas and a medium to high chance for isolated heavy showers or a thunderstorm. On Thursday (13th March, 2025) into Friday (14th March, 2025), Trinidad and Tobago is expected to experience an increase in surface convergence and moisture build-up, resulting in partly cloudy to at times cloudy conditions, with light to moderate showers in varying areas, and a medium to high chance for the development of thunderstorm activity, initially in the near-Eastern coastal and offshore areas, eventually drifting over land by Friday (14th March, 2025). At this time, analysis is indicating the possibility of heavy rainfall totals over Northeastern and Eastern areas of Trinidad and just Southeast offshore of Tobago on Friday (14th March, 2025).
