20-Year-Old Maraval Man Charged With Possession of Stolen Vehicle

Officers of the Stolen Vehicles Squad have charged a suspect in connection with a stolen vehicle seized earlier this year.

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), following a thorough investigation, Officers determined that a silver Nissan Tiida, recovered on 1st September, 2025, in the Port-of-Spain Division, was in fact the vehicle reported stolen in a case of larceny in the St. James Police District, between 9th and 10th March, 2024.

As a result of the investigation, on Tuesday (16th September, 2025), a 20-year-old self-employed resident of Celestine Trace, Morne Coco Road, Maraval, was arrested in connection with the stolen vehicle.

Following consultation with the CID/CRO Legal Department, the TTPS said Officers received legal advice to formally charge the suspect with possession of a stolen vehicle. He appeared virtually before High Court Master Indira Chinebas today (Thursday 18th September, 2025), where he was granted bail in the sum of $60,000 with a surety.

The investigation was led by Senior Superintendent Maharaj, Superintendent Pariman, and Assistant Superintendent Narine, and was directly supervised by Inspector Lazarus and W/Cpl. Villafana. The charge was laid by PC Hall of the Stolen Vehicles Squad.
