Here’s The 5-Day Weather Outlook For T&T [Tuesday Until Saturday]

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), the axis of a Wave is presently near 50W and is moving Westward at 10 kts to 15 kts. The axis of this Wave is expected to cross the Lesser Antilles by Tuesday afternoon (16th September, 2025), with associated weather across the Leeward Islands from Tuesday (16th September, 2025) to Wednesday (17th September, 2025). Effects of trailing convergence and moisture advection, together with local dynamics, are likely over Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands during Wednesday (17th September, 2025), late morning or afternoon.

The axis of an Eastern Atlantic Tropical Wave is now near 38W and is at present moving Westward at 10 kts to 15 kts. An associated area of low pressure (AL92), exhibiting moderate to strong vorticity, has been flagged with a 60% chance for cyclonic development within the next forty-eight (48) hours and a 90% chance over the next seven (7) days. Present numerical weather models’ projections are indicating that this area is likely to pass to the (near) Northeast of the Leeward Islands by Friday (19th September, 2025), as its trajectory takes a West-Northwest to Northwest path.

Looking Beyond This Outlook Period 

• Early analysis suggests that on Tuesday (16th), an area is expected to leave the African West coast and enter the Atlantic with moderate vorticity. It is likely to track to the near-South of the Cabo Verde Islands. Present indications are that, as this area moves generally Westward to West-Northwest, its vorticity is likely to become reduced and is expected to cross the Northern Windward and the Leeward Islands by Monday (22nd) as a trough.
• Very early indications are showing that an area of moderate vorticity is likely to leave the African West coast on Friday (19th) and could pass the Northern Leeward Islands as a closely-following trough on Tuesday (23rd).
• These early analyses so far into the future are subject to much variation as time progresses. The Met Office said it will continue to analyze and monitor all developments, or possible developments, within our Area of Interest.

Seas

• For this outlook period, the wind waves in the open waters to the near-East and Northeast of Trinidad and Tobago are expected to be mostly between 1m and 1.5m until Friday (19th), when they are expected to peak near 1.8m.

Wind

• The wind in the near-surface to the lower mid-level over Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands (2,000 ft to 5,000 ft), is expected to be generally between 10 kts and 15 kts at first, but dropping to below 10 kts at times between Thursday (18th) and Friday (19th). Direction is expected to be generally from East-Southeast to East, but from the South-Southeast on Friday (19th) and Saturday (20th).

Dust

• Presently, there are mild to occasionally moderate concentrations of Saharan dust in the atmosphere, which is likely to be moderate from Friday (19th) for the remainder of this outlook period.
• Persons are advised to take the necessary precautions.

Effects of trailing convergence and moisture advection, together with local dynamics, are likely over Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands during Wednesday (17th), late morning or afternoon. There are medium to high chances for thunderstorm activity over the Leeward Islands on Tuesday (16th) and Wednesday (17th), and medium to high chances for thunderstorms over Trinidad from late morning to afternoon on Wednesday (17th).
• The likely passage of a tropical system to the near-Northeast of the Leeward Islands, from Friday (19th) into Saturday (20th), is likely to destabilize the atmosphere and produce high chances for thunderstorm development over the Northern Leeward Islands and low to medium chances for isolated thunderstorms over the remainder of the island chain.

Tuesday (16th September, 2025)

• Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands: Generally fair with some brief showers over varying areas is expected. During the mid-morning to early afternoon, there is likely to be a low to medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop near hilly areas.
• The Leeward Islands: A mostly fair morning is likely, becoming partly cloudy to cloudy from afternoon to evening, with medium to high chances for isolated thunderstorm activity to develop.

Wednesday (17th September, 2025)

• Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands: Fair conditions are likely to be interrupted by partly cloudy periods with light to moderate showers in some areas. There is a medium to high chance for thunderstorm development over Trinidad during the late morning to afternoon.
• The Leeward Islands: Partly cloudy to cloudy periods are expected to interrupt some fair conditions over varying areas, with medium to high chances for thunderstorm activity to develop, especially over the Northern islands.

Thursday (18th September, 2025)

• Trinidad and Tobago and the Southern Windward Islands: Mostly fair and hot conditions are expected, but there is a medium chance for an isolated thunderstorm to develop, favouring Western Trinidad during the late morning to early afternoon.
• The Leeward and Northern Windward Islands: Partly cloudy periods are expected to interrupt some fair conditions over varying areas, with a low to medium chance of an isolated thunderstorm.

Friday (19th September, 2025)

• Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward Islands: Mostly fair and hot conditions are expected, but with light winds from the Southeast to South-Southeast interacting with the local topographies, there is a medium chance for an isolated thunderstorm to develop, favouring hilly areas, and also Central to Northwest Trinidad, during the late morning to early afternoon.
• The Leeward Islands: Mostly fair conditions are likely. A closely-passing tropical system is expected to bring winds from the Northeast, which is likely to give rise to a low to medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop near hilly areas.

Saturday (20th September, 2025)

• Trinidad and Tobago and the Windward and Southern Leeward Islands: Mostly fair and hot conditions are likely, but with light winds from the general South interacting with the local topographies, there is a low to medium chance for an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm to develop, favouring hilly areas and also Central to North Trinidad, during the late morning to early afternoon.
• The Northern Leeward and Windward Islands: A mostly fair morning is likely. It is expected to become partly cloudy to cloudy from the afternoon. A closely-passing tropical system is expected to bring winds from the North to Northwest, with a medium to high chance for thunderstorm activity.
