NINETEEN (19) Venezuelan Nationals Detained In South Western Division

A Point Fortin man and nineteen (19) Venezuelan nationals, who are here in the country illegally, were arrested by Officers of the South Western Division, during anti-crime operations conducted on Saturday (13th September, 2025).

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), in the first incident, a 30-year-old Point Fortin man was held, after five (5) Venezuelan nationals, ages twenty-one (21) to thirty-three (33), were found at his home. 

The exercise was conducted by personnel of the South Western Division Task Force and Point Fortin CID.

Meanwhile, in the Erin district, the TTPS said a total of fourteen (14) Venezuelan nationals, ages five (5) to forty (40), who entered the country illegally, were found hiding behind a pirogue on a beach on Saturday night, by personnel of the Marine Interdiction Unit.

Officers of the Erin Police Station were contacted and the foreigners were detained. 

Immigration Division and Children’s Authority personnel were also contacted. 

Investigations are ongoing into the above matters.
