Police Destroy TWO (2) Cannabis Fields In Couva


The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS) said 
Police Officers destroyed two (2) cannabis fields in the Couva area on Wednesday (17th September, 2025).

According to the TTPS, acting on intelligence, a team of Officers, including members of the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department (CID), Special Intelligence Unit (SIU), Central Division Task Force (Area South) and the Air Support Unit, conducted a Cannabis Eradication Exercise in the Couva district.

The team ventured into a forested area off Carli Bay Road, where they discovered a plot of land containing two (2) cannabis fields, comprising approximately 350 fully-grown cannabis trees. 

The plants, which had an estimated street value of TT $350,000, were destroyed.

The TTPS said investigations are ongoing into this significant discovery.

This exercise was co-ordinated by Senior Superintendent Edwards of the SIU, Superintendent Glodon, and Assistant Superintendent Reyes, and was supervised by Sergeant Harriot of the Central Division.
