Today: Hot, Sunny, 40% - 60% Chance For Heavy Showers — Mild To Moderate Saharan Dust; 33°C Max

According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), hot and sunny conditions today (Monday 8th September, 2025) will be interrupted by partly cloudy to cloudy periods, accompanied by a few light to moderate showers. There is a 40% to 60% chance of isolated heavy showers/thunderstorms, favouring Trinidad. Tonight will be mostly fair but hazy, despite isolated showers.

Gusty winds and street/flash flooding may occur in/near heavy showers/thunderstorms.

The Met Office notes that a mild to moderate concentration of Saharan dust is expected. Persons sensitive to changes in air quality are advised to take the necessary precautions.

The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago. 

Seas are slight and occasionally moderate with waves occasionally up to 1.3m in open waters and below 1m and choppy during showers in sheltered areas.
