Today: Hot, Sunny, Hazy, Isolated Showers — Light To Moderate Saharan Dust; 33°C Max
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Meteorological Service (TTMS), mostly hot and sunny conditions today (Thursday 18th September, 2025), with a light haze, will be interrupted by periods of increased cloudiness, accompanied by scattered light to moderate showers. Isolated heavy showers/thunderstorms are likely over Western regions and hilly areas from late morning until late afternoon. Tonight is expected to be mostly fair, despite isolated showers.
The Met Office notes the following:
- In the event of heavy showers/thunderstorms, gusty winds are likely and street/flash flooding may occur in areas so prone.
- A light to moderate concentration of Saharan Dust is expected across the region. Persons sensitive to changes in air quality are advised to take the appropriate precautions.
The forecast maximum temperature today will be 33°C at Piarco in Trinidad and 32°C at Crown Point in Tobago.
Seas are moderate with waves 1.2m to 1.7m in open waters and up to 1m and choppy during showers in sheltered areas.
