Anti-Crime Operation Yields MAJOR Drug Seizure In San Fernando
An anti-crime operation conducted by the National Operations Task Force (NOTF), in collaboration with Officers of the Southern Division, led to a significant drug seizure on Saturday evening (18th October, 2025).
According to the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service (TTPS), the operation, which ran from 6:30 PM to 11:30 PM, was strategically directed by ACP - Tactical Support, Collis Hazel, ACP - South, Michael Pierre, Senior Superintendent Simon, Superintendent Jaikeran, and W/Superintendent Bridgelal. It was co-ordinated and directly supervised by Superintendent Santana, Sgt. Toussaint, and included Officers: PC Dan, PC Lezama, Charles, Mannette, along with members of the San Fernando Operations and Enquiries Unit, led by Sgt. Seecharan and Cpl. Huggins.
Based on intelligence information, the Officers proceeded to an apartment, located on La Pique Street, San Fernando, under the authority of Section 12 of the Emergency Powers Regulations. Upon identifying themselves and gaining co-operation from the occupants, the Officers conducted a thorough search of the premises.
The apartment was occupied by three (3) Spanish-speaking individuals. During the search, Officers discovered the following:
- A white crocus bag and a brown cardboard box, containing a total of 145 rectangular packages, wrapped in black and brown tape. The contents, suspected to be compressed cannabis, weighed approximately 75.35 Kilograms.
- Eight (8) one-gallon plastic containers with an orange-coloured substance, each sealed with plastic wrap.
- Four (4) notebooks and five (5) cellular phones.
All items were seized and transported to the San Fernando Police Station for further analysis.
The TTPS said it “remains committed to aggressively targeting organized criminal activity and drug trafficking networks. The public is reminded to continue supporting the TTPS by reporting suspicious activity through official channels.”
