A 57-year-old employee of the Water and Sewerage Authority (WASA) was robbed of approximately $275,000 in gold jewellery while at his workplace at the Tacarigua Regional Complex on Wednesday morning (15th October, 2025).

According to reports, the victim was seated in the lobby area when two (2) men approached him, around 6:45 AM. One of the suspects, described as being of African descent, dark complexion, medium-built and clean-shaven, was wearing a red-blue-and-white cap, a navy-blue long-sleeve shirt, and jeans.

The second suspect, also of African descent, was slim-built with a cornrow hairstyle, wearing a black cap, a black-and-white polka-dot long-sleeve shirt, and black pants. He brandished a firearm and pointed it at the victim, while announcing a robbery.

The man, fearing for his life, handed over several pieces of gold jewellery, including four (4) Cuban link gold chains, a Spanish link chain with a cross pendant, four (4) gold rings, and a gold beera, together valued at approximately $275,000. The bandits also made off with his wallet, bank cards, ID, and Driver’s Permit — fleeing North along Goya Road, El Dorado.
